Little Wizard Owl

Hello and Happy Monday!

It's time for day 6 of Whimsy Stamps August Rubber and Die Release! I hope you were able to join us the last 5 days of mini blog hops for some fun prizes on each day. If not, you still have  couple more days to hop along. Remember you have 24 hours to enter into today's drawing, so until tomorrow 12noon EST. You can find the complete list of stops on the Whimsy Inspirations blog. All winners will then be announced on Wednesday.

I am part of today's blog hop and decided to use the cute Little Wizard Owl from Whimsy's Meljen's Designs.

I colored the image using my Faber castell pencils, the hat however was done using copic markers. I really wish I was more patient with my markers, I have so many but I always end up frustrated whenever I use them, so I always end up reaching for my pencils (which I do love). I do however
like how my hat turned out. Not so happy with the owl itself, I tried to make it appear like feathers, but I am not so sure I achieved that.

I had these googly eyes laying around and thought they would look cute added to the owl.  I created the kraft background paper by stamping one of the flourishes from Whimsy's Lavish Flourishes stamp set using black ink. The sentiment is from an old SU set, it's the same sentiment I cut the Happy Halloween out that I used on my card on Friday.  I added some ribbon and twine, stamped "Boo" (which I got from the Michael's dollar section a couple of years ago), and punched it out. Then tucked it under the ribbon like a tag.

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Ok, that should be it from me, be sure to go check out the rest of the Designer's creation for today. You can find the complete list
 HERE.

Thanks so much for visting!
Have a great day!

A little Birthday Fairy

Happy Saturday everyone!
I had some time to make a card today since the kids were busy playing with their friends. So I decided to play in this week's Digital Pencil Too challenge. The theme is distressing.

Here is my card.

I used the super sweet Fairy Flora.  She has been colored using faber castell pencils and copic markers for the skin.

I layered the cute image onto some yellow designer paper from my stash, and then onto a die cut made with Whimsy Stamps new double scallop square doily die.

The sentiment is from a Penny Black clear set, I used my SU word window punch to punch it out. I embellished with some ribbon and twine, a button and then added some dazzling diamonds glitter to the wings. To finish it off I sewed around the edges and used a corner rounder on the bottom two corners.

I am entering this card to the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend everyone!

 ----------------------------

For today's card I used the super cute stamp "Hazel", the little witch from Whimsy's Wee Stamps collection.

As usual, she's been colored with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. I thought I could create a night sky scene with the black card stock in the back, and then added a circle for a moon. The black  vines inside the moon are made with Whimsy's new Leafy Corners die set, I thought it would add a little bit of spooky-ness to the card :-)

The sentiment was cut out from an old Halloween sentiment from a SU set. The paper is from Basic Grey (Eerie witches brew?). I did some maching sewing, and then added a couple of buttons with some hemp twine.

I have combined a few challenges here too:
Simon Says Stamp and Show...  has s super simple theme -  Anything Goes

 then I saw the

Stampalot Challenge -was  Take Flight - I thought this cute little witch with her broom would fit that so well too, who knows where she is flying next on her broom with her little winged friend the bat?

And since I used some of my Basic Grey papers, I had to check out the BasicGrey challenge as well, the theme there is  Anything Goes so I am entering it there too.

Here is another photo of the card, a little bit smaller for those of you that  have trouble viewing the larger upload above.

Actually, I am not sure which size looks better, so if you have a minute, could you please let me know if you prefer the smaller photo above, or the larger photo at the beginning of the post? Might help me decide which way to post them in the future.

Thanks so much for stopping by, don't forget if you like to be entered into the Whimsy Stamps prize draw, you have to comment on all of the DT blogs listed on the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations blog.

 Good luck everyone!

This will include a selection of DT work from the new release week together with a complete list of winners from the daily mini blog hops.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For today's release day I created a card using the super cute stamp "Summer Fairy" from the Wee Stamps collection. Some of you might recognize this stamp, as it was a freebie in a UK magazine a little while ago. If you missed out on it, but would like to get it, you can buy it now as a cling mounted rubber stamp, at a little larger size from Whimsy Stamps.

I colored the image with faber castell polychromos pencils. The papers that I used here are from my stash, really old ones, but I thought they go well with the way I colored the image.

The butterfly was punched out with a MS punch, I used a stamp from Whimsy Stamps "Lavish Flourishes" for the butterfly's "flight".

The sentiment that I used today is from Whimsy's stamp set "Vintage Birthday Tabs 1".
It was cut out with the Tabs 1 die.
I embellished with some ribbon and a few sticky pearls. I did a little bit of sewing to finish it off.

I have also decided to decorate a cotton muslin bag with this same stamp.

Now, this was my first time ever stamping on fabric, and especially coloring on fabric, so it is nowhere near perfect. But it was so much fun to do. I used my Memento black ink pad and prismacolor pencils to color. Of course before I started the process I washed and ironed the bag, as I read that tip on the internet somewhere. After I was finished coloring, and stamped the sentiment, I turned it around and ironed it again, to "set" the pencils. To finish it off I applied some glitter and added the beads to the strings. Oh, and the sentiment is from either the Spring letter seals sentiment set from Whimsy Stamps.

These wonderful baggies are available for purchase at State Line Bag Co. They come in different sizes. These are the premium cotton muslin bags.

I would love to enter my card to the following challenges:

Winter Fun

This week the challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil is "Friends". I really wanted to play along again, as I just love coloring Mo's cute images. Had to miss last week's challenge as I was too busy with the last week before school start.

Here is what I made for this challenge.

I used the image "Toboggan" It's been colored using Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.
It's a rather simple card again, the paper is from my stash, I think it's by bo bunny.

The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps sentiment set "Winter Letter Seals". I added a simple white grosgrain ribbon, and a punched out snowflake. Then I did some paper piercing along the sides of the image and finished off with a little bit of glitter.

I would love to combine the following challenges:

Best of Friends

Hello and thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope you're all having a good week so far.

I have a card to share today, that I made using a new stamp from Whimsy Stamps July release. This one is from the Crissy Armstrong collection, it's called  "Best of Friends". I used the girl version, there is also a boy version.

I colored the image using Faber Castell polychromos pencils. The beautiful paper is from a pack  by Prima Marketing, I just love the colors in this paper so much.

I have added some grosgrain ribbon, and some baker's twine, then adhered the sentiment with some pop up dots. The sentiment is from the set "A touch of Elegant Furniture", also by Whimsy Stamps.

To finish it off I did some sewing, added the corners, which were done with the "Corners Die set".

Peaches

Hello again, I am back with a second card today. Now that doesn't happen too often here on my blog :-)

I wanted to play in this week's Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge, and the theme there this week is simply, anything goes.

I decided to use the gorgeous digi "Peaches" for my card today. You can find the image HERE.

I started with the sketch from this week's sweet sketch challenge, but now that my card is finished, it really doesn't look much like it, so I won't be entering it there.

The image itself has been colored with faber castell polychromos pencils and cut out. The butterflies are also part of the image, but I decided to adhere them onto the sentiment.

I used papers from my stash, designer paper is most likely from My Minds Eye. The blue card stock is from stampin up, I used a stamp from Whimsy Stamps "Lavish Flourishes" on it to create some interest, but it is not very visible in the photo.
The sentiment is from the set "Everyday Sayings Notables 4" by Whimsy Stamps. I used the Notables 4 die to cut it out.

I added some ribbon, and some glitter, and then did some sewing with my sewing machine to finish it off.

This card was made for the following challenges:

Whiskers and Wings for Penny Black and More

Good morning everyone!
It's hard to believe it is already August?? Summer is sure flying by, only a couple more weeks for us until school starts again! It's been so hot over here this summer, I am ready for some cooler weather, but I don't know how soon it's going to happen...
Since it's a new month, it is also time for a new challenge over at Penny Black and More. A really fun one again this month...

Whiskers and/or Wings

Here is what I made.

I used a super cute stamp from the clear PB set "Critter Party". It's been stamped on soft sky card stock and colored using my faber castell polychromos pencils.

The grass that kitty is sitting on is from a clear set by one of our sponsors this month, Flonz stamps, who kindly let the Design Team choose a few of their stamps/sets. I have to say I think the border stamp set that I chose, works really well with the Penny Black critters, especially the smaller ones from clear sets.

I have used this sketch before, I don't remember where I found it back then, it was a challenge blog I am sure. The designer paper strips are from my stash, and I punched a scallop border using black card stock. Embellished with some twine,  and a punched out butterfly with some sticky pearls.
The sentiment is from a set by Whimsy Stamps.  I will update here as soon as I figure out from which set.

I hope you'll join us this month, we have some fabulous prizes again this month from Penny Black, Stampalot, Joanna Sheen, Crafts U Love, Flonz Craft, so be sure to play along for a chance to win!!!
