About Me

My name is Elke, online I'm known as Ellie (which was a childhood nickname my parents gave me), or Ellibelle which is my user name on SCS (a stamping forum). The name "Ellibelle" is actually made up of the first two letters of my first name and the German word for Dragonfly which is "Libelle". I picked this "nickname" a looooooong time ago when I signed up for a German forum.

I started this blog in 2008 to share my handmade cards. Over the many years of blogging I also discovered some fabulous lifestyle and fashion blogs which I enjoy reading and even dipped my toes a bit into fashion and lifestyle blogging, which has taught me that I prefer a capsule wardrobe after discovering "Project 333", a minimalist fashion challenge. The main focus of my blog remains my handmade creations, but will occasionally share a "lifestyle" post.

I've been a long time lover of Penny Black stamps whether they are cute, floral or nature themed and wish I could have them all! I also have a love for vintage themed stamps  as well as silhouette stamps.
I enjoy using the line of Distress inks, my Zig Clean Color markers and Faber Castell Polychromos pencils to add color to my projects.
I have no professional color or art training so my cards aren't perfect but I sure enjoy creating them!

On a personal note, I am a 40-something year old mom of two and wife to my (mostly 😄) supportive husband. I moved to the United States from Europe at 21 years old when we got married. We live in the Midwest with our 2 kids (a high school student and college student) and 2 cats. I quit my very busy daytime job some years ago to focus on family and I have never regretted my decision. However that lead me to the decision to add affiliate work to my blogging. Many links I include in my posts and on my side bar are affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you purchase through them, but there is no cost to you when you use those links. I very much appreciate your support of this blog!

Thank you so much for visiting!
