Animals at christmas time

It's tuesday again and that means another challenge over at digital tuesday!
This week it's my turn to choose the challenge and I want to see

Animals at Christmas time

As always feel free to make anything you like just be sure to include a digistamp somewhere on your creation.

For my card I used a digi from Mo Manning. I LOVE this image, the cat is just soooo cute! This is our first year having cats in the house. Hopefully this won't be a scene at our house this christmas.

It's been colored with copics. The papers are from Stampin up and Bazzil. I've also used a lace doily.
Embellished with some red grosgrain ribbon and some stickles. The flower is a stamp from a Penny Black clear set. I colored it with copics, cut it out and added some gold stickles to the flower center.

I would also like to enter my card to the following challenges:

This week our challenge blog is sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps. Be sure to check them out, lots of cuties to choose from . The winner of this week's challenge gets to choose 5 digis from their store.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! Hope you liked the card and be sure to check back tomorrow for another card for the brand new Penny Black at All Sorts challenge which goes live on December first!

Have a great day,
Ellie.

Let it snow, DTC #86

Happy tuesday everyone! Today our challenge over at digital tuesday was chosen by Anne-Marije, and the theme is

Let it snow.

I love making "snowy" cards. Thanks for the fun challenge Anne-Marije!

Have you gotten any snow yet where you live? We haven't gotten any yet here in the midwest, and yesterday we actually reached 71 degrees (21 celsius). But it was also very windy and still is while I type this.

For my card I used one of my Mo Manning digis. It's been printed out on couture 80lb card stock and then colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil. I decided to go with an all white card for this challenge. The 3 panels were run through my big kick with a cuttlebug embossing folder. I embellished with some snowflakes, polka dot ribbon and stickles glitter.

The sketch is from this week's cute card thursday challenge. I also wanted to enter it to this week's Mo's challenge blog with the theme of "use 3 punches". I used the snowflake punch, scallop border punch, and circle punch. Then at totally papercrafts the theme is "snow or snowflakes" and this fits perfectly so I am entering it there too.

This week our sponsor is My Grafico and as always the winner of the challenge gets to choose a set from their store, plus will also get 10% off of an order. If you'd like to play along you just need to make a card or other project using a digital stamp and then follow our them of "let it snow".

Before I go I'd like to wish everyone celebrating Thanksgiving Day this week a

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thankful somethings

Happy Friday!!

This week our challenge at stamp something is called

thankful somethings.

For my card I used one of my own digistamps, little susie squirrel with acorn, from
Digital Stamp Oasis.

The image has been printed on couture 80lb card stock and then colored with derwent coloursoft and baby oil. I cut it out using a circle nestabilities shape. Edges were sponged using some bashful blue ink.

I embellished with some brown grosgrain ribbon, brads and punched out butterflies using a martha stewart punch. Tiny sticky pearls and stickles glitter were added to the butterflies.
The sentiment is from Stampin up.

I am also entering my card to these challenges
Our generous sponsor this week is Simon Says stamps and a wonderful prize is up for grabs, as usual! I hope you'll all join in.

Have a GREAT weekend!
Ellie.

A fairy birthday card

Happy Wednesday!!

I needed a birthday card for a little girl who's turning 5 soon and I thought this stamp from Lily of the valley would be perfect to use!

I heat embossed the image and then colored it using derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil.
Designer Paper is from Bo Bunny (I think), card stock is from Stampin up and Couture (white).

I embellished with a punched border (martha stewart punch), some prima flowers, punched flowers (stampin up punch), Tim Holtz flourish die (sizzix), a paper doily, ribbon and silver cord and some pearls. I also did some sewing with my janome mini and applied lots of stickles and then I used some scissors to distress the edges.

My card fits these challenges:
That should be about it.

I also wanted to remind you again - if you haven't yet played in this month's Penny Black @ All sorts challenge, you have just about one more week to do so. Some fabulous cute Penny Black stamps are up for grabs to several lucky winners. The theme is "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Would love it if you'd play along, you can enter up to 3 times with a new project.

Have a great day!

Anything with wings

Happy Tuesday!!

We have a new challenge for you over at digital tuesday. It's Anneke's turn to host this week and she wants to see

anything with wings!

For my card I used a brand new to me image from Meljen's Designs. Just got it last week when Whimsy Stamps had their 50% off digi sale.

I needed to make a few more masculine birthday cards, and I think this image works perfecty for a masculine card.

I got out my much neglected copic markers for this image. As you can see it's a clean and simple card, I embellished with some black gingham ribbon and a little bit of stickles. My card is going to Germany so I computer generated the birthday sentiment.

Some more challenges I am entering this to:
Hope you decide to join us this week! It's my turn to sponsor Digital Tuesday Challenge, the winner gets to choose 3 digis from Digital Stamp Oasis.

Have a great day!
Ellie.

My first tri-shutter card

Hi everyone!

Another post for today!

My son turned 8 last month and this is the card I made for him. I wasn't too thrilled with it but since he told me it's the best card he'd ever seen I just had to share it. Of course he is all into Mario Brothers right now, so I chose to do a Mario themed card.

I googled Mario and printed out various images on white card stock. Some of them were pre colored, some of them I colored with copic markers.

It was my first time trying a tri-shutter card, and I have to say they are actually really easy to make. I found the instructions on Splitcoast.

I tried not to embellish too much (as he always complains about too much glitter on all of my cards LOL), so I just added some ribbon and a yellow button.

--------------------------------------------------

Before I go I'd like to remind you all again about the Penny Black @ All sorts Challenge for the month of November.

The theme is "It's beginning to look a lot like christmas and below are the amazing prizes you can win, sponsored by the official Penny Black company.

If you haven't already played this month, be sure to do so, and if you already did, you can enter up to 3 times with a new project. All you have to do is make something with a Penny Black stamp and follow the theme.

Alright then, that should be it for today, I will now try to get some sleep, this cough has been bothering me for days now...I really hope it goes away soon, as it's been keeping me up half the nights.

Have a great weekend!

A happy snowman

Hi everyone!

Hope you had a fantastic weekend and a great start of the week. We had some beautiful weather again here this weekend and a record high on monday. The kids really enjoyed playing outside. So no complaints here! Just hoping it will last a little longer.

It's time for another challenge over at Digital Tuesday. The lovely Amy is our hostess and she wants us and you to use some of that never used stash that we have in our collection. Thank you for this challenge Amy, as I have been waiting to use this designer paper and the snowman for some time now it just never happened (until now!).

The snowman image is from Sassy Cheryl, I bought it sometime in August I believe but never used it. It's been colored with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils and blended with baby oil.

The Designer paper is from S.E.I ( double sided, "glitzmas collection"), I had picked up a couple of sheets 2 or 3 months ago at a local stamping store and haven't used any of it yet either. These 2 things immediately came to mind when I saw what the challenge was.

The card is kept pretty simple, the sketch is an old one from Mojo Monday. I embellished with just a few punched out snowflakes (Martha Stewart Punch), some grosgrain ribbon and stickles glitter. I also used an old Stampin Up stamp from the set "itty bitty background" around the image. The sentiment is also from Stampin up.

Here's a closeup at the snowman.
Here are some other challenges I am entering this to:
I hope you'll join us in this fun challenge. As usual we have an amazing sponsor, this week Dustin Pike is back offering 3 digis from his store to one lucky winner!

And just a reminder, if you have any winter/christmas Penny Black stamps, I'd love if you join us at the November Penny Black @ All sorts challenge with the theme of "it's beginning to look a lot like christmas". Some amazing prizes up for grabs there!

Have a great day!
Ellie.

Sketch Something

Happy Friday and thanks so much for stopping by my blog!

It's time for another challenge at stamp something, this week we have a sketch challenge for you. Our sponsor is DRS Designs offering a great prize to one lucky winner. I hope you'll join us!

Here is the sketch, you may embellish as you like, flip or rotate.

For my card I used a brand new stamp from Northwoods rubber stamps, that I got from a local stamping store.

It's been colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil. I applied lots of Dazzling Diamonds glitter with a 2 way glue pen to the card for lots of shimmer. I wish it would show up better on the picture.

I decided to keep my card clean and simple, and embellished with just a couple of brads and some ribbon, and more sparkles on the designer paper.

My card also fits these challenges:

That is all for today, hope you'll play along this week.
And just a reminder, the November challenge is posted at Penny Black at All sorts, would love it if you join us there, maybe you can combine the two challenges for more chances to win!

Happy weekend!

Ellie.

DTC #83 - I've been framed

Happy Tuesday!!

Hope you had a great start of the week!
It's time for a new challenge over at Digital Tuesday, it's Shelly's turn to host this week and the challenge we have for you is called

I've been framed

Include some sort of frame on your card.

I used an image from our sponsor, Robyn's fetish, who also generously let the Design Team play with some of her images. This one is called Poppy Fairy.

The image has been printed on couture 80lb card stock and then colored with derwent coloursoft pencils blended with baby oil. I made a "frame" with a Martha Stewart around the page punch (layered arches) and then adhered that to a white rectangle.

I had the Designer Paper forever in my stash, but never used. It's by My Minds Eye. The sentiment is from stampin up (warm wishes - retired in the US), I punched it out with a word window punch and then layered it on a small punched oval. To finish this card off I did some paper piercing on the white paper strip and around the image, added a little bit of ribbon and of course I had to add glitter to the fairy's wings.

Here's a closeup of the image.

Here's some other challenges I am entering this to:

Hope you'll join in the fun this week for a chance at a fantastic prize from Robyn's Fetish.

Have a great day.
Ellie.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Happy Monday everyone!

I am so excited to share today's post with you. It's my first Design Team card I made for the Penny Black @ All sorts monthly challenge.

This month the theme we have for you is

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

You can get your inspiration from the beautiful Christmas song, or simply from the title.

I hope all you Penny Black lovers will join us, there are several fun prizes up for grabs and you can enter up to 3 times with a new card or other project.

For my card I used the stamp "Caroling Trio". It was so much fun to color!!

I've used my derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil. The designer paper is from Basic Grey and cardstock fom Stampin up and couture 80lb. I decided to do some distressing and also sewed the edges. Embellished with some brads, pine tree button, silver cord and of course stickles glitter. The sentiment is from an old retired stampin up set.

I am also entering my card to these challenges:

I can't wait to see what you all come up with using your Penny Black stamps. Several amazing prizes up for grabs so be sure to play along!! Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's amazing work!
