Allsorts 474: Baby Animals

This is another scheduled post so hopefully blogger does what it's supposed to!
The theme this week at Allsorts challenge, chosen by Helene, is "Baby Animals". And this is what I came up with...

I used an older wood mounted stamp by Penny Black (In a Nutshell), heat embossed on Bristol Vellum paper and then colored with Zig Clean Color real brush markers. A retired curvy stitched die from Whimsy stamps was used to cut out the image panel and the striped paper is from a paper pack picked up at Joann's Crafts and Fabric. I tied some May Arts burlap twine around the card before adhering it blue card stock. The card base is Neenah Linen textured 80lb card stock.

I've had the sentiment stamp forever, I think it's by Stampin Up. It's been heat embossed also on Bristol Vellum paper. The little hearts are cutouts from Avery Elle's Heart Frame die set. I also used a clear Wink of Stella brush on the flower and hearts.

This week we have a wonderful prize by DigiStamp Boutique and we're also giving away an extra prize, a Rare Earth hedge stamp from the Allsorts prize box.

Allsorts 473: Sweet Treats

This is a scheduled post, so if you read this then blogger behaved as I hoped :-)

This week at Allsorts challenge Susan is our host and she would like to see "Sweet Treats"We have a great prize to give away this week by Marianne Designs, so do come join us if you'd like to be entered into the drawing.

I used a Lili of the Valley stamp - Rosie with Cake, it's been colored with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils on Neenah card stock.  The sentiment is Penny Black's Sprinkles and Smiles

A really quick and easy card to make as you can see.  One of Avery Elle's Wonky Stitches dies was used to frame the image panel with. The paper strip is from my box of scraps.

Thanks so much for visiting, I hope you have a great weekend!

Penny Black and More: June Midmonth

Happy Monday everyone!
I will be on a blogging break over the next couple of weeks to spend some time with family I haven't seen for a while so my following posts are all scheduled, including this one, and I will not be accessing my blog during this time. I hope blogger will behave as expected...

So today we're sharing our midmonth creation for the Penny Black and More challenge blog where our theme for the month of June is "In the Garden". I had a busier than usual week last week, and wasn't sure I was going to have something ready for the midmonth post, but I did manage to create this clean and simple card.

The cute mouse stamp is from the Penny Black set Garden Critters, heat embossed on Bristol Vellum paper and then colored with my Zig Clean Color real brush markers. A stitched die was used to cut out the designer paper and I embellished with some May Arts Natural Burlap twine and a punched butterfly (Martha Stewart punch). I added a two sticky back pearls to the butterfly and went over it and parts of the image with a Zig Wink of Stella clear brush. The card base is Stampin Up's retired Bashful Blue.

I hope you can join us if you  haven't already (or join us again) for a chance at one of the wonderful prizes!

Allsorts 472: More than 2 Dies

Happy Saturday! It's time already for a new challenge at Allsorts, this week Kath is our host and she would like to see 2 or more dies. We have a wonderful prize to give away again this week  ... this time by StickerYou. Hope you can join us!

My card was inspired by some supplies I found laying around my desk as I was cleaning it up. The circle hearts die is by Avery Elle and the butterfly is by Spellbinders (old - this one is similar).  The sentiment is from the Penny Black set Snippets. Polka dotted paper is actually a patterened vellum paper from DCWV found at Joanns, the strip of designer paper is from my stash. I embellished with a button and some Jute twine.

The red card stock I used appears more "rust" colored, it's actually more of a watermelon color in real life.

By the way, starting next week I will be taking a blogging break but have some posts scheduled that I hope will post...but you never know how blogger will behave :)

Allsorts 471: Ladies Night Out

It's time already for a new theme at Allsorts challenge,  this week it's Tracy's turn to host and she picked the theme of "Ladies Night Out". Come join us for a chance to win a prize from Swedish House Crafts :)

For my card today I used one of Penny Black's stamps from a recent release Birthday Balloons (currently available in my Etsy shop). It's been stamped on Bristol Vellum paper using my Tonic Stamp Platform and versafine onyx ink. It's then been heat embossed so I could use my Zig Watercolor markers. The pattern on the right side was done with a stencil from a Stampers Anonymous Stamps and Stencil Set. The sentiment come as part of the Birthday Balloon stamp set, it's also been heat embossed. Sticky pearls were added as embellishments, I thought they worked well for the "Ladies Night Out" theme :)

Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday - June Challenge

Hello and welcome to another "Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday". It was lots of fun visiting all your wonderful blog entries following last month's theme. Be sure to scroll down to the end of this post to see if you were the lucky winner or one of my top picks....

Last month it was all about ladies, but let's not forget about all the great men and boys in our lives, so this month I selected the theme of

Make it Masculine.

To play along simply link up your masculine creation - linky tool is at the end of this post.

I stamped the image on Xpress It Blending Card using Memento Tuxedo ink, then colored with my copic markers. The image has been fussy cut using Cutterbee Scissors. The sky was done using Tim Holtz's Rays Stencil and tumbled glass distress ink. Stamped Dr. Seuss quote is from a retired set by Whimsy Stamps and the black sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Quotations Sticker set.

A little close up below...
Waves were done using a newer Penny Black die - Curved Stitch Die
I simply used white Neenah card stock to cut out the waves, then sponged them with Stormy Sky distress ink. I cut them apart and arranged them around the image until I liked how the waves looked.

The prize for  this month's challenge is this cute Whimsy Stamps rubber stamp from my prize box:

Penny Black and More - June Challenge

Happy Sunday! It's time for a new theme at Penny Black and More challenge for the month of June we have selected the them of In the Garden. A nice and easy one I think, with so many options.
There are several wonderful prizes to win again this month, so hopefully you can join us for your chance to win one of them. This is a month long challenge, so there should be plenty of time, and don't forget you may use any brand of stamps, just no digi stamps.

I started out by inking a piece of Bristol Vellum paper. I don't remember if I used distress ink or my Zig markers but basically I just applied a water soluble ink on a craft mat, spritzed with plenty of water and then patted the paper onto the craft mat. This short video by Loll explains the simple technique really well. I used the retired "Canvas" background stamp by Stampin Up to add more interest to the background. The pretty floral stamp is by Penny Black (Delicate Florals)  stamped with Versafine Onyx ink and then colored with Zig Clean Color real brush pens. I decided to add some torn designer paper corners to two of the corners and a little button with jute twine finishes off this easy to make card. The sentiment is from my favorite Birthday sentiment set by Penny Black: Sprinkles and Smiles.

I am also sharing my card here:
Colors:
Color My Heart Color Dare

Tuesday Throwdown  - Create your own background
Mod Squad Challenge - Stamped Background
Paper Shelter Challenge - Flower Power
Simon Says Wednesday -  ATGoes this week
4 Crafty Chicks - Weekly - ATGoes this week
As You Like It Challenge - Flora or Fauna and why (I can't possibly choose between flora and fauna, because I love both equally. So while my last card linked featured "fauna" this one is all about "flora". I used to be more of a "fauna" person (when papercrafting) but that changed in the recent years when I discovered many of my favorite floral stamps.
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes opt. Black and White
Catch The Bug   Anything Goes
Penny Black Saturday Challenge June - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for visiting!!

Allsorts 470: Baby, Baby

Good morning and happy Saturday! It's time already for a new theme at Allsorts challenge, this week it's Wendy's turn to host and she chose the theme of Baby, Baby. Hope you can join us .... we have two wonderful prizes to give away this week, one is by our wonderful sponsor DigiStamp Boutique, and we also have cute Crafter's Companion stamp set from the Allsorts prize box.

I had to opportunity to select a set from Digistamp Boutique for today's card and I picked "Louie Love Set". This set contains 3 cute bear images, and I thought this one was perfect for a baby card. The hearts are blank, so you can fill them in with any 4 letter word you want, it could be Love, Baby or maybe even a personalized 4 letter name. I went with"Baby" to fit our challenge theme.

I colored this image using my Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils on Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock and used Blending Stumps dipped in baby oil for blending. I love to use baby oil as an alternative to Gamsol because there are no toxic fumes and I find it works just as well. The image panel was cut out using Avery Elle's Wonky Stitches die set and I inked the edges with Spun Sugar distress ink. The sentiment is from a retired Set by Whimsy Stamps and patterned papers are from my stash. I added some May Arts crochet pink lace, a button and Natural Jute Twine. The card base is Stampin Up's Smokey Slate card stock. An old corner rounder by Creative Memories (which I've had since my scrapbooking days back in 2001) was  used on two corners of the sentiment. It's amazing how well this tool still works!!

Here is another look at the cute image.
