Allsorts Challenge 548: Christmas Gifts

This post includes some affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you purchase something through the links, at no cost to you! Thank you so much for your support!

Hello and thank you so much for visiting! It's Saturday, that means we have a new theme for you at Allsorts challenge and this week Wendy chose the theme of "Christmas Gifts". This is a great opportunity to create or finish those handmade gifts, there is a lot of wonderful inspiration from the rest of the team on the challenge blog.

I took the easier way and made a card featuring Christmas gifts. I actually wanted to make a set of coasters, but with the Thanksgiving holiday and hubby and kids both at home for all/most part of the week I did not attempt to start that project.

I made a CAS card, stamped and heat embossed the Penny Black image Dashing Through The Snow on Winsor & Newton watercolor paper, then colored with Distress Inks to match the strip of pattern paper from my stash.

I embellished with sparkly silver trim from the Target dollar spot (it's from a few years ago) and die cut snowflakes. The exact die set was a prize I won from Dare 2 B Artzy, but it appears to be retired. I'm sure most of you have snowflake dies or punches, if not, there are several options available HERE. The sentiment is from the Penny Black set Holly Jolly .

Below is a close up. As you can see I used a Christmas words stamp randomly on the background. This large background stamp is Penny Black's Christmas Story

Fashion Friday: More Jeans from Ebay and A Puffer Vest

This post includes some affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you purchase something through the links, at no cost to you! Thank you so much for your support!

I wasn't sure if I'd get a post ready for today...it's been a busy week and it seems to be getting harder to find the time for photography, now that the days are so short (and I don't like having them taken inside because there's never enough light). We did manage to take these pictures late Monday afternoon before I went to the grocery store. I don't know how so many  bloggers can post daily...

I'm sharing another casual look. This time I'm wearing my eggplant vest. This is a thicker puffer vest than my black vest I shared a few weeks ago. It's lined with fur so it's very warm. The vest is old from Eddie Bauer. I love this deep eggplant color!

The sweater was a recent find at TJ Maxx by Calvin Klein. I love this pretty shade of blue and the sweater is soooo soft. There's also a pretty cable knit detail on half of the sleeves that I thought was unique. Unfortunately I couldn't find a link to this sweater at TJMaxx, but they do update their inventory often and always worth checking out their site. Otherwise you might want to take a look at Macy's sweaters. They currently have some great deals for Black Friday. Great options at Kohl's as well, I've linked a couple below, but nothing really in this color.

In my last fashion post I mentioned that I purchased another pair of   .This time I got the skinny jeans and I am wearing them here. They fit me well and were a good buy, but it's a lower rise than my usual jeans (something I forgot to check when I purchased them). Oh well, I did hear that low rise jeans are making a comeback and these aren't terribly low.

I tried to get one of my kitties in the pictures but he was not being very cooperative - little stinker, always on the run!

I'm wearing sneakers for a change. These are the Taos Retro Star in Khaki Suede. It's recommended to size up half a size so mine are a size 8.5. By the way, they are marked down to less than $70 from $110, so if you're looking for a stylish and comfortable pair of sneakers with  great arch support you might want to check these out.

My cross body bag is by Baggalini. Mine is old but this one is similar. And there are several other models available on Amazon. My glasses are by Coach, mine were picked up at my local eyecare clinic.

Puffer Vest Option HERE  from Kohl's,  HERE from Macy's or HERE from Old Navy - this one is marked to $15 during the Black Friday sale.

At a glance, here are some of the great deals from some of my favorite stores this Black Friday.

Favorite Picks From Kohl's - Something For Everyone On Your List

This post is NOT sponsored, however it includes some affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you purchase something through the links, at no cost to you! Thank you so much for your support!

Hello and thanks so much for visiting!
Are you planning any "Black Friday" shopping this Holiday Week/Weekend? If so, what are your personal favorite stores? While I won't be hitting any physical stores, I will be doing some online shopping and over the last few years I've always placed an order at Kohl's. They do seem to have something for everyone!

This year their Kohl's Cash promotion starts TODAY, where you will earn $15 of every $50 you spend. And when you use code GIVETHANKS you will get an extra 15% off (some items will be excluded from the the extra % off but everything will still earn you Kohl's Cash.) There may be some special doorbusters on Thanksgiving Day but I won't be shopping on Thanksgiving and not to mention if I were, I'd end up overwhelmed, exhausted, worn out, overheated ... simply said, crowds and long lines are not for me and surely not my way to spend Thanksgiving Day!

While I won't be purchasing all of the items listed here, they are some of my favorites picks and I think they would make great gifts too! I've always been the one to buy useful gifts so many of my picks will serve a purpose.

PICKS FOR WOMEN AND JUNIORS

Medallion Necklace
 Fitness Tracker

That's a long list for sure, but it includes some picks from the Juniors department as well, which I know my daughter would love! While I do love all of these, my absolute favorites I think are the Rose Crewneck SweaterPajama Bottoms and the Buckle Accent Ankle Boots.

I think my daughter would LOVE the Sherpa HoodieShearling & Faux Fur Lined Boots  and those cozy Slipper Socks. She also asked for dance gear and dance equipment but that will come from a dance supply store.

PICKS FOR MEN - YOUNG AND YOUNG AT HEART

My husband is not easy to shop for, not because I don't know what to get him but because he never wants anything. But he did mention that he needs a new wallet and I like this Leather Wallet and he could use that Quarter Zip Pullover so he has something new to wear to my daughter's Nutcracker performance. He'll also get a new lunch box, but I found one for him already at TJMaxx. Last year he got this Fleece Jacket, and although he always said he never wanted one, he's been actually wearing it a lot.

My son is easier to shop for - I think he would like these Training Pants as they come with zip up pockets, and he's been wanting a new Hoodie and one of these Water Bottles. I always buy new pajamas for Christmas and these Cotton Pajama  pants will be perfect. He doesn't really need new running shoes, but I think he'd like to have these.

FOR THE HOME:

The Coffee Press is high on my wish list this year!! But loving all of these and how cute is that hooded throw for kids!! And yes I'm a big fan of those cute characters but I no longer collect anything (other than rubber stamps for my cardmaking hobby).

TOYS FOR EVERY AGE

14.5 Inch Doll (these always seem to sell out!)

There is a large selection of toys and electronics available online at Kohls and these are some of my favorite picks. (Minus the wireless headphones but I included them because they seem to be on every teens list. I think it's ridiculous to pay that much money for headphones that will most likely be lost or stolen in 6 months or less!)

Did you like any of these picks or would your potential Christmas shopping list look completely different? What will you be shopping for this year?

Remember, starting Monday, November 25th until November 29th you will earn $15 off every $50 spent! Then on November 30th until December 9th you can redeem your earned Kohl's cash.

Thank you so much for visiting!! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with your loved ones!
