Flower somethings

Happy Friday!!
This week at stamp something our theme is

Flowers!

Super easy and fun! I am sure by now everyone is ready for spring and flowers so this should be super easy challenge for everyone!

For my card I used a brand new (to me) image by Wee Stamps. I just discovered this brand new line of digis on monday and had to have two of the 3 right away!! And the 3rd one is on my wishlist.
This one is called "Wee Suzie".

I colored it with derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil for blending, and I used some copics for the skin tones. Papers are from Basic Grey (Olivia), and colored card stock is from Bazzil.
I used my sewing machine along the edges and then did some distressing.

I would like to enter my card to these challenges:
Hope you liked my card today and if you're up for an easy challenge why not join us! Oh, and there is still a little time to play in this month's Penny Black at All sorts challenge with the theme of "say it with flowers". So if you happen to to use a Penny Black stamp be sure to link it there too. We are having lots of prizes there!! And you can enter up to 3 times!

Have a great day!!
Ellie.

DTC #99 - Punches

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

Hope you are having a wonderful week so far. Mine has been great, and I am so happy that I feel great again! Enjoyed the day with the whole family yesterday since the kids were home from school for presidents day and I even got myself a couple new crafting goodies.

Today's card is for Digital Tuesday, Anneke is our hostess this week and she would like to see

Punches.

This should be easy enough so hope you will all play along! As always there is going to be an amazing digistamp prize, and this week we are sponsored again by Stitchy bear stamps offering a gift certificate to their store!

For my card I used a newly released digital stamp from meljen's desigsn, available for purchase at Whimsy Stamps. I just love Meljen's mouse and since I didn't get a chance yet to use it I decided to use it for today's challenge.

I have printed the image on GinaK layering weight card stock and colored it with my derwent coloursoft pencils. I went with more masculine colors on this one, thought the image would be perfect for a boy's birthday card.
The design is kept clean and simple, got the sketch idea from a clean and simple challenge blog but forgot to bookmark the site. Designer papers are all retired from Stampin Up. My sentiment is from a clear stamp set by Penny Black (critter party). I used my word window punch to punch it out and layered it onto a punched out circle which is folded behind the main image. Embellished with some pumpkin pie grosgrain ribbon, a star shaped button and silver cord. Then I added a little bit of stickles here and there.

ETA: I made this card also for this week's meljen's challenge which is to use a birthday sentiment, but when I typed up my posting last night I totally forgot to include that.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Hope you liked the card and maybe you'll find some time to join us this week!
Also just a reminder, be sure to check back with us next week as we are having our 100th challenge blog hop celebration!!!

Stamp Something Funky

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

It is time for a new challenge over at stamp something and this week we'd like to see

Something Funky.

For my card I used a digi from Funky Kits (sugar nellie) called "Dream catcher". It is so beautiful!

It has been colored using derwent coloursoft and some copics. The papers are from DCWV. I kept the card pretty simple, and I hope it is somewhat funky. I didn't feel well all week long starting last weekend, but I didn't want to miss the challenge. So I just used a simple sketch and kept the embellishments few as you can see.

And here are some challenges I am entering this to:
I hope you'll get a chance to join us, we have Funky Kits sponsoring us this week and an amazing prize is up for grabs!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Use die cuts

Hi everyone and happy tuesday!

We have another fun challenge for you over at digital tuesday! It's Amy's turn to choose a challenge and she wants to see

Die Cuts

For my card I used a brand new image from Mo Manning. I was lucky enough to catch it as a freebie on her facebook page. It is no longer a freebie but it can be purchase in her store.

The image has been printed out on Gina K card stock and colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and some copics for skin tones. My die cut is the nestabilities shape behind the image. Papers are from Stampin up. I went with a clean and simple look with this, but did sponge the white edges with some going gray ink. Embellished with some flowers which were made with an SU punch, a few sticky pearls and silver cord. Sentiments are from Stampin Up.

I use the sketch from the sweet stop sketch challenge and the challenge over at Craft your passion is pink so I am entering it there too.

Our amazing sponsor this week is My Grafico and one lucky randomly chosen winner gets to choose one of their digistamp sets and will also get a 30% off voucher to be used in their store.

Hope you'll join us!! All you have to do is use a die cut somewhere on your project and include something digital.

Before I let you go, I'd also like to let you all know that Digital Tuesday is having a 100th challenge celebration with a blog hop on
March 1st.
There are going to be lots of prizes!!
Please help us spread the word by posting our logo to your sidebar!

Have a great day everyone!

Stamp Something - Something for your valentine

Happy Friday everyone!!

It's time for a new challenge at Stamp Something. This week the theme is

Something for your valentine.

We are being sponsored by whiff of joy, and my image is one of WOJ's from the Elizabeth Bell collection. This stamp is called "Willow with Umbrella"

I only have 2 WOJ collection, nothing really specific for Valentines, and I didn't know how to make this one work for valentine. But then I had the idea of this sentiment and my card was born. It says "you are my sunshine on a rainy day." I just typed it up in microsoft word and printed it out.

Image has been colored with derwent coloursoft and baby oil, skin tones with copics. My papers are from the paper company (the flowery paper) and basic grey (the hidden pink paper), and card stock from SU and Gina K. I made the flowers with a SU punch using the same basic grey pink paper. Used the cuttlebug hearts again and did some distressing and sewing along the edges. To finish it off I added some stickles glitter and some pearls.

Here are a few other challenges I've been working with

Mojo Monday (sketch)
Creative Card Crew (for a loved one)
For fun challenges (hearts)

That's all for today, I hope you'll join us this week for a chance at a Whiff of Joy prize!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Ellie.

Apple of my eye

Hello and thank you so much for stopping by today! It's Thursday and that means new release at Meljen's Designs. This cute image is called "apple of my eye" and it is available for purchase at Whimsy Stamps.

I colored it using derwent coloursoft pencils and some baby oil for blending. I actually printed it out 3 times, so that I could pop up different parts with some dimensionals. Sorry it is hard to see in the picture. My papers are from stampin up and bazzill, I embellished with some hearts which I cut out using a cuttlebug die (I just love that die!!), and I also used some ribbon. To finish it all off I applied some stickles and did some sewing with my janome mini.

Here are a few challenges I am entering this to:
Hope you'll have a great day with some paper crafting in it!

Phindy's Place Challenge and a winner announcement

Hello and happy wednesday! Hope you're having a great week so far! It's freezing here in Illinois, I hope this cold doesn't last too long!

Before I get to my card I would like to announce the "Whimsy Stamps" digi -hop winner. My blog was one of the chosen stops for a prize. Thank you to everyone that hopped along with us!!

The winner is Grace from Th-ink-ing of you.

Congrats Grace, you get to choose one digital stamp of your choice from Whimsy stamps. Please email Debbie at

Today is also rubber release day at Whimsy Stamps and the Rubber Stamps Design Team have organized a blog hop to show off all of the new amazing products again.
Click here if you'd like to hop along!

------------------------------------------------------------

Now onto my card... last week the card I entered for Phindy's challenge was chosen as the Card of the Week and I got a 20% store discount. My card uses one of the images I got with my discount. I absolutely love this one!! It's called "Hot Cocoa". Had to make a card with it right away!

I printed it on Gina K layering weight card stock and then colored it with my derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil. If you have ever had problems with ink smearing, someone shared a solution with me. Just choose "photo-paper" on your printer settings, but use your card stock. It takes a little longer to print but I have not had any problems since.

Unfortunately when I was all done with my card and applied stickles the part with phindy's signature smeared from the stickles. Wish I could cover it with some flowers but they just wouldn't fit into the layout so I will probably just redo the image and use less stickles.

Of course I wanted to play along in Phindy's Challenge this week, the theme is "embossing". I used a hearts cuttlebug embossing folder. The edges were all sponged with caramel ink and then distressed. I kept the card pretty simple, embellished with a couple of flourishes (tim holtz), and some ribbon. My sentiment is from a retired SU set.

Besides Phindy's Challenge I have combined a few others, Claudia and Co wants to see pink, blue and brown, Papertake weekly wants to see a heart. C.R.A.F.T challenge wants to see a diecut.

That's all for today! I hope you liked my card! I will be back tomorrow with another card using a brand new (to be released tomorrow) meljen's image.

Have a great day and stay warm!!
Ellie.

DTC #97 - From the Heart - valentines card

Happy tuesday everyone and thank you for visiting my blog today! We have another fun challenge for you this week over at digital tuesday. The amazing Shelly is our hostess and she chose the theme

From the heart - valentine's theme

Our sponsor, Paper pretties, generously let each design team member choose one of their cute images. I chose the image "caffeine mouse". What a cutie!!

I used derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil for coloring. The image was printed out twice so I could pop up the mouses head, but it is hard to see in the picture. The edges were sponged with some turquois ink. My papers are old ones from stampin up. I embellished with some cuttlebug hearts, ribbon and stickles glitter.

Some challenges I combined here:
I hope you'll join us this week, there is a fabulous prize up for grabs from paper pretties.

And just a reminder, there is still lots of time to play in this month's Penny Black at All sorts challenge with the theme of "say it with flowers". Lots of prizes up for grabs there, all you have to do is make a card using a Penny Black image and then use some flowers.

Hope you'll have a fantastic day!

Whimsy Rubber Stamps Sneak Peek

Hello and welcome to Whimsy Stamps sneak peek - Day 1!

Whimsy stamps is having a new rubber stamp release on february the 9th and the Design Team is showing off these new gorgeous rubber stamps starting today!

There are going to be rubber stamps/sets from Crissy Armstrong, Meljen's Designs, Raindropecho and Kenny K, and there are even going to be a couple of dies to go with a couple of images.

Today we are showing you a preview of new stamps by Crissy Armstrong.

For my card I used the stamp Valerie's Spring Rain from the Crissy Armstrong collection. Isn't it just the sweetest??!! The sentiment is from a digital sentiment set by raindropecho, just released a few days ago. I thought it would be perfect for this stamp.

Like I said in my previous post, I am taking a mini break from pinks, so I have used yellow shades again. It is just such a spring-y color and that is just what I can't wait for!!

I used some derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil for blending, and then a couple of copics for the skin. My papers are from stampin up. Again I distressed and sewed along the edges. I embellished with some paper flower which I made by punching them out with a martha stewart punch and then crumbling them up and layered two of them together with a brad. I also added some black gingham ribbon and sheer blue ribbon, used some corner die cuts (cuttlebug) with sticky pearls, and some extra nestablities shapes almost hidden behind the image and sentiment. I sprayed the whole card with glimmer mist for some sparkles and also used a little bit of stickles glitter.

Here is a closeup of the image.

I would also like to enter my card to these challenges:

Be sure to check out the rest of the sneak peeks today and the rest of the week , I know they are all amazing. You can find the DT's blog links here.

And then on the 9th Whimsy is having a release party with more eye candy and some prizes too!

Have a fabulous weekend!

It is time for our monthly digi- week over at stamp something. We have some amazing sponsors again, one of them is Meljen's Designs, and the image I used on my card is by Meljen's. I just love this cute little skunk! It is available at Whimsy Stamps.

I am taking a short break from "pink" so instead I used touches of yellow. The image has been colored using Derwent coloursoft pencils and some baby oil. The papers are from DCWV (dots, stripes and plaid stack and sweet stack), colored card stock is from stampin up and white is from my local printing place.
I distressed all of the edges using some scissors and embellished with some flourishes (tim holtz), prima flowers and brads. The sentiment is from an old Stampin Up set. To finish it all off I did some sewing with my janome sew mini. I have also used a few punches (Martha Stewart branch punch and lace doily punch, and a circle punch)

Here are some challenges I'd like to enter this to:
I hope you get a chance to play along this week! Lots of prizes are up for grabs, and if you happen to use shades of gray and one other color then you can also enter it to this week's digital tuesday challenge for another chance to win!

I colored the image with derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil, and copic markers for the skin. Did lots of distressing along the edges and then sewed with my janome sew mini.

Penny Black at All Sorts February challenge

Here I am again with my second post for the day, scroll down if you'd like to see my "Shades of gray and one other color" card.

Since it's the first of the month it's time for a new challenge at Penny Black at All sorts. Our theme this month is

Say it with flowers.

We also have some super exciting news again, we have a new sponsor joining us every month, in addition to the Penny Black company and PB stamps, we have Letraset joining us, with a chance to win an awesome prize every single month!! They also generously sent every Design Team member a package of their Aquamarkers. Wow, these are AMAZING!! I love how easy they are to use and I love the results!

And here is my card. The stamp I used is called "poppy field".

I used some hot press watercolor paper. I first inked the stamp with versamark ink and then I immediately inked it with versafine onyx and stamped it on the paper. I then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

For my coloring I first used a clean watercolor brush to make it a little but wet, then I added just a little bit of marker on the edges and then pulled the color in with the brush. For darker shadows I just repeated the steps.
I did use a couple of alcohol markers for hedgie's face and hands.

My papers are from bo bunny and card stock is bazzill. I embellished with a couple of layered prima flowers with a button, ribbon and silver cord, and then a punched out butterfly using a martha stewart punch.
The sentiment is from the Penny Black clear set "Critter party".

I'd also like to enter my cards to the following challenges:
Now it's your turn to get out those Penny Black cuties and get stamping! I can't wait to see what you make!

Shades of Gray plus one

Happy Tuesday everyone and thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I have been very busy these last few days creating cards, I have 2 more posts scheduled for later today so be sure to check back!

This week our hostess at Digital Tuesday is the talented Sharon, and she wants to see

shades of gray plus one other color

on our creations this week. I love gray and had so much fun creating this card!

This is also the card I made for Annika, one of my Whimsy Stamps and Stamp Something Design Team mates. Whimsy is holding a "circle of friends" blog hop for her to show her that we are there for her in this difficult time. Unfortunately I did not have time to be part of the hop but of course Annika has been in my thoughts and I hope this card will put a little smile on her face. If you'd like to hop along to support Annika you can start here at Crystals blog.

The image I used today is from Phindy's place. It has been colored with my derwent coloursoft pencils and then blended with baby oil.
I used some brand new gray patterned paper from a DCWV stack that I just picked up at Joann's. The pink Designer paper is an oldie from Stampin Up. I distressed and sewed along the edges. The flowers were made by punching out assorted flowers with a Su punch (spring bouquet - retired), then I crumbled them up and then layered them.
My sentiment is from Stampin Up.

I have made this card with a few other challenges in mind:
Hope you'll join us this week at digital tuesday, we have a brand new sponsor, limited runs, and a fun prize is up for grabs!

Now that's all for this post. Hope you'll get some time to check back later for my february penny black at all sorts card and then at noon EST we are starting our monthly Whimsy digital release blog hop with some new super cute digis and a few prizes too!
