Inchin' by to say hi

I just can't get enough of the cute set "Just for you" by whimsy stamps. Isn't this little inch worm adorable!!

I made this card for the Whimsy Stamps challenge. The challenge this month is

" Add some metal".

There are still 2 weeks left to enter the challenge for a chance to win one of the prizes up for grabs.

I stamped the image using Memento tuxedo ink and used some copics for coloring. These 2cute ink stamps are just perfect for copic use, I usually struggle using my copics and I am so happy I actually manage to use them for these images.

It's a pretty simple sketch. I simply punched out a circles using designer  papers from my scraps. Then I added a smaller white circle with some brads, which are the metal I used on my card.
I added a a couple of strips of matching designer paper to the bottom, to balance it out a little. And yes, you guessed correctly, I messed up stamping my sentiment, so I just had to "fix" it by stamping it again, cutting it out and adhering it onto the messed up sentiment. That's how the pink strip of paper got added too. To finish it off, I added the button with some silver cord, and glitter to the flower.

I would love to enter my card to the following challenges:
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you enjoy your day!

Whimsy Stamps February Release Showcase Day 6

Happy Monday everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!

It's day 6 of Whimsy Stamps February Rubber Stamp and Die Release!
Last Wednesday Whimsy stamps released this month's new Rubber Stamps and Stamp Sets, shapeology dies, Shape EZ by TLC templates, and designer paper packs. They are available to buy right now at the Whimsy Stamps Store.

I hope you had a chance to hop along with us over the last few days for a chance to win some whimsy prizes. If not you still have today and tomorrow to hop along on our daily mini hops, and there are two more prizes to be won!

For today's card I used the adorable stamp Shelly, from Whimsy's Wee Stamps Collection.  I am so loving this stamp, and it was so much fun color!
I decided to make a Shadow Box card with the image. It's been a really long long time since I made one of these, back when I played in the challenges on SCS, way before I had a blog.

It is really easy to create these types of cards. I followed the tutorial on splitcoast. Here is the direct link to it for anyone who wants to give it a try. You can embellish these as little or as much as you want, I kept mine on the simpler side as I usually do.

My image has been colored using faber castell pencils and then I applied glitter. I used one of the nestabilities labels dies to cut out the "window". On the front I used one of stamps from SU's retired sets "Itty bitty backgrounds".

I simply embellished it with some seashell embellishments which I made using old SU stamps and a shrinky dink sheet, added some cheesecloth and a little prima flower.

The sentiment is from the set Lovely Spring Sliders 2 from Whimsy Stamps. It's been cut out using the new sliders 2 die.

I don't normally add this many photos of projects, but wanted to show the 3d effect of the card, so I decided to snap a few extra pictures.

The great thing about these types of cards are, that they lay completely flat for mailing .

Here is a top view.

I would love to enter my card to the following challenges:

Whimsy Stamps Showcase Day 3 - February Release

Good morning and Happy Friday to you all! It's day 3 of the Whimsy Stamps February Rubber and Die Release and I am so excited to be part of today's hop.

On Wednesday Whimsy Stamps released several new and exciting products, including many new stamps, shapeology dies, Shape EZ by TLC cut files, and gorgeous papers by Michele Roos. These goodies are available right now at the Whimsy Store.

During release week the Whimsy Stamps Designers and our special guest designer are showcasing these new goodies, and there is going to be a prize hidden somewhere on one of the blogs. So be sure to leave a comment on all of the participating designer's blog posts to be entered into the prize draw.

Here is what I create for today, using one of the cute stamps from the set " Just for You"., along with the new "Bingo card and sentiment set"

I colored the image  using copic markers.

The little skunk was stamped onto neenah paper and then cut out. I stamped him again onto blueish designer paper from Whimsy's "cottage garden" designer paper set, and then adhered the colored image onto the designer paper.

Added some punched out grass (MS punch), and a couple of designer paper strips from my stash. The sentiment is from the same set "Just for You", and of course the bingo card from the new bingo and sentiment set.

I simply embellished with a prima flower and a button, and did some sewing. Hope you like my card.

Be sure to visit the rest of the designers showcasing today for a chance to win a prize.

Whimsy Stamps - February Release Showcase Day 1

Welcome to the Whimsy Stamps February 2013 rubber stamp and die release!

Today, Whimsy Stamps is releasing 22 new Rubber Stamps and Stamp Sets, 5  new Whimsy Shapeology Dies, 2 new Shape EZ by TLC templates, and 2 beautiful Whimsy Designer Paper 6x6 packs. These new goodies are available to buy right now from the Whimsy Stamps store along with all your Whimsy favorites. From today until 26 February, the Whimsy DT and our February Special Guest Designer, Louise Roache, will be showcasing these new products with a daily mini blog hop. Each mini blog hop has a new release prize hidden somewhere along the way and you have 24hrs to enter each prize draw by leaving a comment on every blog listed for that day. At the end of release week (Wednesday 27 February) a release round-up will be posted on the Whimsy blog together with a complete list of winners from the daily mini blog hops.

Here is what I created for today, using the super adorable stamp "Cradled by the Moon" from Whimsy's Crissy Armstrong collection.

I colored the image using copic markers.

ETA: I received some comments about the paper piecing, however, the clothes were done by coloring with a copic marker and then simply drawing on the dots using the copic blender pen which if you know how the blender pen works, you'll now it will take away the color. Just thought I'd add that too, as I did not paper piece it.

The papers are all from my stash, some stampin up designer paper in bashful blue prints, and then the gingham is by my minds eye.

I used the alphabet set "Spell it out" from Whimsy stamps to make the word "baby", and the "sweet" ticket is from the set "Love mini tickets" also from Whimsy Stamps. It has been cut out using the coordinating mini ticket die.

I would love to enter my card to the following challenges:

H is for ...

Good morning and happy friday!

It's  the 15th of the month, and that means we have a new challenge at ABC challenges!
We are at the letter H and our theme is

H is for Happy Birthday.

Here is what I made using a super cute digi from our sponsor saturated canary.

I just love this cute scene and thought it would be perfect for a birthday card.

It's a pretty simple card, that's just what I like at the moment. I simply colored the image using my colored pencils and added the sentiments. They are from Whimsy Stamps set: Celebration Circle Pennants.
For my corners I used one of the corner doily dies also from Whimsy stamps. This one is corner lace doily die 2.
The music sheet paper is from a 6x6 paper pack by Prima Marketing. Did a little machine sewing and added a brown button (sorry it appears black in the photo.)

Our sponsors for this challenge is Saturated Canary. Hope you get a chance to play along with us for a chance to win!

I am entering this to the following challenges:

Pink Pearly and Swirly

Hello and a happy Sunday to you all!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

It's the first Sunday of the month, and that means time for a new challenge for you over at Penny Black and More. This month we'd like to see something

Pink Pearly and Swirly!

Here is what I created.

My stamp is from Penny Black, of course, it's called Cuddle and Hobble. I don't know if it's retired or not, but Icouldn't find it in Penny Black's listings.  After coloring the image I cut it out using my cutterbee scissors. I just love how good those scissors work for cutting out the smallest details.

The designer paper is from My Minds Eye, it is kind of an antique rose shade, so I colored my image accordingly to match with antique pink and some browns.

On the left side I used the "lavish flourishes" stamp again from Whimsy to add a little more to the designer paper. And then I added a little bit of glitter too. The strip of darker pink (which looks more like purple in my photo) is also from the same paper pack.
The dark color and card base are Stampin Up's chocolate chip.

The tickets are from the set" Everyday Mini Postage Stamps" from whimsy stamps. I used the mini postage stamp die to cut it out.

Not much more to tell about my card I guess. I've embellished with a button and some white twine, some white grosgrain ribbon, and pearls. Stitching to finish it off before adhering it onto the card base.

I would also love to enter this to a few other challenges:

Hope you'll find some time this month to join us. We have some fantastic prizes up for grabs again from Penny Black, Stampalot, Crafts U Love, and Flonz. No need to use a PB stamp either, you may use any rubber or clear stamps or stickeroos. And as usual, we are looking for guest designers for the following months, so be sure to read on the challenge blog on how you can be chosen as a guest.

ABC challenge - G is for ...

Good morning  and thanks for stopping by! Can't believe it's February already, time is surely flying by, and we have a new challenge for you over at ABC challenges, we have arrived at the letter "G" and our challenge for the next two weeks is

G for Going Dotty!

Fun fun fun! I love dots and I am sure many of you do to! So why not join us this month for a chance to win some fun prizes?

Here is what I created, and I am so happy with how this card turned out. I combined pretty much everything I like here, first of all a cute critter, then dots, and a clean and simple feel to the card.  I just love when something turns out how I want it (although I didn't really plan this card, it just turned into this while I worked on it and I love the outcome!)

The stamp is from a set from Whimsy Stamps newest rubber stamp line, 2Cute Ink. It's called "Happy Birthday to you". I knew I had to have this set because I just couldn't resist this cute elephant. There are also a couple other cute animals in this set, plus several cute little sentiments like the ones I used on my card.

The papers are from a pack by My Mind's Eye. And since I really feel like most of my cards are girly, I decided to go a little masculine with this one, using blues and yellows. The swirls that you see on the yellow designer paper were stamped using one of whimsy's lavish flourishes stamps. I know I am using that set all the time, but I just love the way it changes the look of the paper a little by simply stamping it.

The elephant was colored using faber castell polychromos. I added some chrystal effects to the balloon and the water puddle, but it is hard to tell in the photo.

As mentioned above, both sentiments are from the same set (happy birthday to you) by Whimsy Stamps, I used the SUs word window punch on the top sentiment and a 1" circle punch on the bottom sentiment. Did some sewing to add some texture, and then tied some silver cord onto the cut out circle.

I would love to enter my card to a couple other challenges:

Thanks again for visiting. Hope you'll join us this challenge for a chance to win one of the fabulous prizes from these two very generous sponsors

and

Have a wonderful day,

PS: Forgot to add, there is just one more week left for you to enter into my word play saturday challenge. I have a cute stamp by Whimsy to give away. You can enter up to 4 times total. The "word" this month is "anything" so you can share anything as long as it is a new creation.
