Shades of Gray and a tiny Bit of Pink

This is a little bit different from my usual creations, it was actually my first time ever coloring an image completely gray (if you don't count the pink heart). I couldn't decide what to color her, seems like I always reach for the same colors, and while trying to decide, I remembered seeing some gorgeous black and white colored images and decided to give it a try. I used several of the Neutral Gray copic markers.

The card style is a center step card. This was only my second time ever using this design. It's really quick and easy to make. You can find instructions on Splitcoast Stampers HERE.

Designer papers are all from my stash, from SU and DCWV. I used a Whimsy Stamps die for the butterfly border and embellished with some pearls and twine.

Sandpipers and Palmtrees

Good Morning and happy Friday! Hope you're all doing good and are having some fun things planned for this weekend.
It's my turn this Friday to share a creation on the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps blog. This is also my last posting there as a Designer for JFF. It has been an amazing year creating cards with their gorgeous stamps, and I know I will treasure the stamps forever. JFF does travel for their stampfest show, if you'd like to attend one in your area, be sure to sign up for their newsletter HERE, and check out the list to see if/when they will be in your area. JFF offers high quality red rubber stamps, and you can choose from unmounted, cling mounted or wood mounted, whatever you prefer.

I have two cards to share today.
First up a CAS creation. I simply stamped the music background "Tempo" several times in the middle of the card stock, then stamped the birds over the background I created. Colored them with distress markers, the grass was colored with a gelato. I stamped the music background once behind the sentiment too. Added some ribbon and twine and mounted it onto black card stock, then designer paper.

JFF Product List:

For my second card I created an ocean scene.
It didn't turn out exactly how I had pictured it in my mind, so I am going to have to play with this stamp again when I get a chance.

PS: Just for Fun is currently holding a design team call, click HERE to read all about it. They are an amazing company to design for, almost regretting it not staying on the team for another 6 months, but it's time for me to move aside and give some other wonderful crafters a chance to play with these amazing stamps, and it seems like although I no longer work outside the house, I have less spare time for card making.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Doggie Ice Cream

Happy Sunday! Hope you've had a nice weekend. It's been nice and sunny here yesterday, but a storm did move in last night, and it's been a pretty warm but cloudy day here today. I found some time yesterday to color and fussy cut the cute stamp "Doggie Ice Cream" from Whimsy's latest release. And today I created this CAS card with it.

A very simple sketch, I just adhered the fussy cut image onto my designer paper (old and retired from Whimsy Stamps), then cut the polka dotted designer paper (from Joann's) at an angle to use on the top of the card. Added the sentiment and a strip of basic gray card stock. I embellished with a little glitter and some twine.

More Wings for Penny Black and More - June Challenge

For this month's Penny Black and More challenge reminder I decided to get a little inky and use some of my newer Penny Black stamps/ die.

The background was inked using  distress inks (orange marmalade, fired brick, mustard seed, peeled paint, vintage photo), then spritzed with water.
Stamps are all by Penny Black, from the sets Sprigs and Enamor. Both sets are available in my Etsy *stamp* shop.
I colored the white blooms using a Faber Castell Pitt marker.  The bird was die cut using the new die Flight of Fancy, also available in my shop. I used white card stock, then after cutting it out, I inked it using distress inks, and glittered the wings.
Finished the card off by inking the edges using vintage photo, and adhered it onto a white card base.

I hope you'll play along with us, if you haven't already. Don't forget you may enter up to 3 times. You can use any stamp manufacturer, as long as your focal point is hand stamped or be a Penny Black stickeroo. We have several wonderful prizes to give away!

Products List:
Sprigs, Enamor, Sprinkles and Smiles,
Flight of Fancy die
Distress Inks & water, Versafine onyx ink
mixed media card stock, SU card stock
Faber Castell Pitt marker white

A '57 Chevy and a Perfect Pair

Happy Friday!
It's the second Friday of the month, and so it was my turn today to share a creation on the Just For Fun rubber stamp blog. It's been a humid and cloudy day yesterday morning, so I decided to create two cards for today.

First up is a masculine card, using the '57 Chevy. I colored it with copic  markers and it's been cut out. Background was done using stencils.

JFF Product List

Also used:
Sun rays stencil

Next up is this fun card, which I think makes a fabulous anniversary card.

I had some fun with my distress markers here. I colored directly onto the stamps using 3 different markers per pear, then spritzed with water and stamped onto watercolor paper. The smaller pear was adhered with pop-up tape to give it more dimension.

Whimsy Stamps - June Release Blog Hop Day 2

Happy Tuesday and thanks so much for visiting!

Yesterday some the Whimsy Stamps Designers kicked off the June Rubber Stamps and Dies release week by hosting the first blog hop of the month, and today we are continuing the fun with  another blog hop. And of course another chance to win a Whimsy Prize.
The hop links can be found at the bottom of my post. All you have to do is visit each Designer's blog and leave a comment at each stop - the prize is hidden in in one of the designer's blogs.

Today we are showing you creations made with stamps illustrated by Mi Ran, Krista Heij-Barber and Elisabeth Bell.

I decided to ink up the cute stamp Tea Time Mouse, from the Krista Heij-Barber collection. And here is my creation.

This little mouse actually made a big tea mess on the original stamp, but I decided to fussy cut the teacup and leave the mess off :-)

I kept my card design pretty simple, by using a simple sketch and embellished with only a little button and twine. The fun postmark sentiment is part of a set also releasing this week - simple sayings postage package. I cut it out using Whimsy's s mini postage die, which is from an older release. Designer paper is very old, from Stampin Up.

PRIZE ALERT ... We have hidden a fabulous prize of a $15 GIFT CERTIFICATE at one of the stops on today’s hop!

Have fun hopping, and check back tomorrow for our grand blog hop and another chance to win!!

Wings for Penny Black and More - June Challenge

Good Morning!! First Sunday of the new month already, and so it's time for our new
Penny Black and More Challenge.

Come join the fun for a chance to win some fabulous prizes for our very generous sponsors! This month we have prizes from Penny Black, All Occasion Dies, Sizzix and Kraftyhands. Lots of fun stuff to be won!!

Our theme this month is
Wings - real, fantasy, or fiction

For my card today I inked up one of my first favorite Penny Black stamps - Water Lily skiing. Had to have this one when I discovered the company several years ago (just wish I had discovered them sooner!!!) This cute stamp is also available in my Etsy Stamp Shop. Speaking of my shop, I did just recently add some of the newest release stamps and a couple dies to my shop for US shipping :-)

I colored the image with copic markers, then created a mask to ink the background using SU and distress inks. The butterfly was stamped separately and fussy cut to fit my card design.
I thought this sentiment was perfect for our challenge theme! It's from the newer Penny Black set "snippets", another one I have available in my shop.

The sketch is pretty simple, I just added a couple designer papers, some twill ribbon and twine, and embossed simple white lines on the top portion of the card. Sentiment was tucked under the image circle, and I embellished with some sequins, and glitter on the wings.

Guess Whooo...Just For You

Busy busy week, but I managed to create this cute card this morning with one of the images I colored playing along in  #thedailymarker30day2 challenge hosted by Kathy.
I didn't get to color anything new yesterday, and probably won't have time to do it today either, but at least I got to make something with some of the images I colored.

The image was stamped onto copic blending card and colored with copics. Fussy cut and then adhered it onto the assembled card, where I had re- stamped the image again (because I didn't fussy cut the flourish branches and balloon string).
Sentiment is from the set "Everyday Sayings". I embellished with some die cut glittered stars and twine.

Sprinkles and Smiles

We're just about off to swim team practice and dance rehearsal, but I wanted to quickly share this card I made with one of the new Penny Black stamps from the set U R the Gift.

Colored this cutie with copic markers and used a nestabilities shape to cut it out. Sentiment is also from Penny Black, from the sentiment set "Sprinkles and Smiles". I used Whimsy's Stitched Border Die Set to cut the shapes on the bottom.
