For all the Women in our lives

Happy Sunday everyone!

It's Whimsy Stamps Showcase day 5 today and I had a little extra time, so I decided to be part of the mini hop today! And it's another day for  a chance to win a Whimsy Stamp!

To be entered into today's mini blog hop prize draw, all you have to do is leave a comment on ALL of the DT's posts listed below by 12.00PM EST tomorrow. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy blog on 25 April.

For today's cards I used the stamp set "For all the Women in our Lives" by Raindrop Echo Designs. Such a beautiful stamp set! I had so much fun with it!! I am so glad I found time to make two cards for today's hop. I hope you'll like them...

I really wanted to do the brayering technique with this tree stamp. I am not very good at brayering, because I hardly ever do it, but I always admire all the brayered cards, so I decided to try it again.

I first inked up my brayer using more mustard ink and brayed the top of the card stock.
Then I punched out a sticky note using a circle punch and stuck it onto the brayered part of the paper. Inked up my brayer with really rust ink and brayered over it not all the way down, Then I inked a little bit of a deeper red ink and just brayered the very top of the card stock.
Finally I brayered some old olive ink on the bottom part of the card stock. (This whole brayering process really gave me some inky fingers!) Then stamped the tree using memento tuxedo black ink onto the card stock. (Now that it is finished I wish I would have thought of heat embossing the tree using black embossing powder.) Removed the sticky note and cut my image to the size I needed. Then I inked up the tree stamp again and stamped some leaves around the edges.

To finish my card, I just layered the image to some black and olive card stock, then adhered it to the card front. The sentiment is also part of this set.

I am entering this to the following challenges:

And here is the other card made using this set.

I saw this color combo in a catalog and thought it would look great on a card. Not sure why the blue turned out so dark, it is really Island Indigo fom SU but it looks more like Night of Navy in the photo.
I made the butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch, and added glitter to them. Did some paper piercing along the edge, and then added some twine, and a few sticky pearls and glitter to the butterflies.

I would love to enter this card to the following challenges:

Here is what I made for today. I used the super adorable stamp "Goldie" from Whimsy's Wee Stamps collection.

She has been colored using Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils.

The Designer Papers are from the 6x6 pack Hello Luscious by Basic Grey. I embellished with some white Whimsy Buds which I sponged using island indigo ink (SU), some flourishes made with Whimsy's Vines shapeology die, then added some ribbon and glitter too. I purchased the little flowers from Whimsy Stamps, they came in cream, I just inked the edges with some island indigo ink.

The sentiment is from the new Ticket Notes Sentiment from this month Whimsy release and I cut it out using the ticket shapeology die. To finish it off I sewed around the edges.

Just playing in a few challenges today:

I made this card using the new stamp "Good Pony" from Whimsy's Crissy Armstrong collection.

It has been colored using Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. I ran the soft suede card stock (which appears somewhat green in my photo) through a paper crimper. I don't remember who makes the designer paper that I used.

The sentiment is from the new set "Ticket Notes", I didn't use a ticket stamp for it, instead I just punched it out using a circle punch. The leaves that are around the sentiment are from the new set "For all the women in our lives". It is actually a tree stamp, I just used the edges of the tree to stamp the leaves.

A pretty simple card again, I just embellished with some buttons and some twine which I got from Whimsy Stamps too.

I am entering this card to the following challenges:

Sunflower Buggies for Whimsy April Release

Hello everyone and Happy Wednesday!

So sorry I haven't posted anything for so long! It's been a very busy month so far, with a sick child over Easter break, painting my kitchen and then I ended up with a very sore shoulder and neck on top of that. Which made it almost impossible to sit down and color or sit on the computer. I am thankful I had to work this past weekend, made me forget to think about my achy shoulder and the moving around seemed to have helped a little too!

I am so glad you are visiting today, as today is the Whimsy Stamps April rubber stamp and die RELEASE DAY!

Whimsy Stamps is releasing 18 gorgeous new rubber stamps and 4 fabulous new Shapeology dies today! These new goodies are available to buy right now from the Whimsy Stamps store along with all your Whimsy favourites.

From today until 24 April the Whimsy DT and Special Guests will be showcasing these wonderful new stamps and dies with a daily mini blog hop. Each mini blog hop has a new release prize hidden somewhere along the way and you will have 24hrs to enter each prize draw by leaving a comment on every blog listed for that day.

At the end of release week (Wednesday 25 April) we will post a Release Round-Up here on the Whimsy blog. This will include a selection of new release DT work from the past week together with a complete list of winners from the daily mini blog hops.

************************************

For today's card I used the new rubber stamp "Sunflower Buggies" from Whimsy's Meljen's collection.

I colored the image using my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. Part of the flower has been stamped twice, cut out once and just used my finger to shape the petals.

The papers are from Stampin Up (long retired). I have used a sentiment from the set "Mini Party letter seals". The little "tag" that is behind the image, is actually part of the sentiment set "Everyday Sayings Notables 4" which was just released. It's been cut out using the new notables 4 die. I cut the stamped frame in half and used the other half to tuck under the image on the right side.

I kept the card pretty simply, just embellished with a flower shaped button and some twine. Then sewed around the edges.

I am entering this card to the following challenges:

Penny Black and More - April Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you are enjoying your day where ever you are!

Since it's the first Sunday in a new month it is time for our new challenge over at Penny Black and more.

This month our theme is a super easy one...

Oh so cute

I hope you play along with us, can't wait to see what you make!

For my card I used the super cute stamp "Baby Hammock" by Penny Black of course.

I have been in love with hedgehogs ever since I found one in my backyard when I was a child. And if you have followed my blog for some time, then you know that the hedgehogs are my favorite Penny Black stamps too.

This cutie has been colored using Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and copic markers for the skin tones.
I just love this simple sketch, perfect to show off the cute stamp. I embellished with a few die cut flowers (MFT flowers and leaves die), some flourishes using Whimsy Stamps Vines shapeology die, a little bit of lace and some sticky pearls.

The sentiment is from a baby set by the angel company. I just used SU's word window punch to punch out the words separately and then tucked them under the flowers as little tags.
The designer paper is by Debbie Mumm which I purchased at Joann's a couple of years ago. Of course I did some sewing and added a little bit of glitter to finish it off.

Hope you like it!

This month we are sponsored by a few amazing companies again - Penny Black, Stampalot, and Joanna Sheen which means several prizes are up for grabs. I hope you'll join us. Don't forget you are not required to use a Penny Black stamp, you may use any stamp, we just ask no digis please.

And here are a few challenges I have combined:

Thank you so much for visiting!
