Allsorts 461 and Papercrafters' Linky Party 9

Happy Saturday and thanks so much for visiting. It's time already for a new theme at Allsorts challenge and as always my Satuday post also includes a new linky for Papercrafter's Linky Party. Don't forget you can share anything papercrafts with the linky tool below (new or recently made). I can't wait to see what you've been up to in the craft room!

At Allsorts challenge this week, Wendy chose the theme of "New Beginnings". First thing that always comes to my mind for this theme is a new baby card, but I needed another Easter card and the Easter holiday is a new beginning, so that is what I made. By the way, I shared another Easter card made with this set on Wednesday, if you'd like to see that card just click here.

My card is clean and simple inspired by a recent sketch from MFT (but I'm too late to link up there). The cute spring chick is from Penny Black's set Chick to Chick, sentiments and little bee are part of the set. I stamped on xpress it blending card and used copic colors for coloring. It's been then cut out using my Cutterbee scissors (which are perfect for detail cutting) to add to my card design. I inked all the white edges using Tumbled Glass distress ink. The outer white card stock was cut using Avery Elle's Wonky Stitches Die set. Some Burlap TwineWink of Stella  and a little prima flower finishes off the card.

We  have two wonderful prizes to give away this week at Allsorts - a prize by DigiStamp Boutique and a stamp set from the Allsorts stash of prizes. Come join us for a chance to win!

I am also entering my card here:

A Clean And Simple Easter Card

Happy Wednesday, the kids are on a Spring break and this week is just flying by! I needed a couple of Easter cards, one I am sharing today, the other one I will share on Saturday.

The card has been kept clean and simple. I stamped the cute image from the set Penny Black set Chick to Chick on Xpress it Blending card and used my copic markers for coloring. It's been then cut out with Cutterbee scissors scissors for detail cutting. The black and white frame I had laying around my desk - a left over from a recent project, it was made with Penny Black's new  Frames Die Set which is available with some other new things in my Etsy shop. The butterfly was done using an old Martha Stewart punch and I've added some  Burlap Twine and Wink of Stella glitter to finish off this simple card. The edges of the white card stock were inked using Tumbled Glass distress ink for a softer look. The card base is from Stampin Up, but I believe it's a retired color and I have no idea which shade of green it is, but I thought it was perfect for this Easter card.

There are a lot of Easter and Spring challenges going on currently, so I am joining them.

Allsorts Challenge 459 and Papercrafters' Linky Party 8

It's Saturday already and that of course means it's the start of a new challenge at Allsorts and also time for the new Papercrafters' Linky party (the linky is at the end of this post). As always you may share any new or recently made papercraft (anything goes) at papercrafters' linky party. I can't wait to see what you've been creating!

At Allsorts challenge this week Wendy chose the theme of Black and White only. Skin tones are allowed but I decided to stick with just black and white for today.

I used a  new stamp from Penny Black's newest release (if you're interested, I have it available HERE in my Etsy shop). The image is gorgeous but don't you just love that kitty on the roof?! He's probably trying to climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower  :) :)

I heat embossed the image on Neenah solar white linen card stock using versafine onyx ink and clear embossing powder. The sentiment is from the set Sprinkles and Smiles which is my favorite birthday sentiment set. Patterned paper is from a 6x6 paper pack by Authentique. I thought the hounds tooth pattern would be a perfect match for this stamp. The little flower was done using Penny Black's new Frames Die set, and I used a sticky pearl in the center. The random dots  under the flower were stamped using a really old stamp set by Stampin Up, and only available on the secondary market. The "itty bitty background" link below the card will bring  you to ebay listings of this stamp.

I really enjoyed creating with black and white only, so I made a few more cards.

The cards above are all small note cards, 4.25 x 3 inches, one of them is a little bit taller. I used the old stampin up stamp again on the background. The frames and little flowers are from Penny Black's  new Frames Dies set, currently available in my Etsy shop, and I used a mix of stamps by Penny Black, all linked below the photo or find them in the amazon picture link below.

Visit the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team came up with, and I hope you can come play along with us for a chance to win some great stamps by Rare Earth.

A Hedgehog for Crafty Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! Today I am sharing a simple card I made as a reminder for the current Crafty Wednesday challenge here on my blog. The theme this month is "All creatures great and small" and you have a little over a week left to play along, and don't forget you can enter up to 3 times. I've attached the linky to the end of this post, so all you have to do to enter is scroll down.

The image is from the Penny Black set Loads of Love, it's a 'new to me' set, and I also have it available brand new in my Etsy shop if you're interested, along with the sentiment I used here (Sweet Wishes) and the stencil. I heat embossed the image on Bristol Vellum paper then colored with my Zig Clean Color markers and my Zig Detailer waterbrush. After coloring I stencilled the design using light gray ink and then stamped the "happy birthday" from the set Snippets several times. The truck in the image is filled with lots of little hearts, but I decided I wanted flowers so I placed little prima flowers all over. The flourish die I used behind the flowers is from Whimsy Stamps (retired). I finished off the card with some jute twine and sticky pearls.

Zig colors used: deep green, yellow, pale pink, flesh color, light pink, green-gray, gray. These colors are all available in the set of 36 I linked below, they can also be purchased as single colors from  Blick Art Materials or Scrapbook.com.

Penny Black and More - Midway Reminder

Happy Sunday! Did you get a chance yet to join us at Penny Black and More challenge? Our theme this month is "Feature a Creature" and you still have a little bit of time to join us for a chance to win. We have several great prizes to give away and don't forget you can enter up to 3 times!
Sweet You - Brand New Set // Curved Stitched Die // Zig Detailer // Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens

The stamp set I used on this card was one of Penny Black's newly released sets from their Sweet Spring release Sweet You and the new Curved Stitched Die was used to create the meadow.
The image has been heat embossed on Bristol Vellum card stock, colored with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and the Zig Detailer waterbrush then fussy cut. The sentiment is part of the cute set. The pretty butterfly designer paper is from a pack by Whimsy Stamps, but it is no longer available. I embellished with some prima flowers and pearls and decided to use some butterflies too which I punched from the same designer paper. Kraft card stock by Stampin up was used for the card base.

A little close up.....
Zig colors used: pale pink, light carmine, mid gray oatmeal and beige. These are all part of the set I linked to.

Allsorts Challenge 458 and Papercrafters' Linky Party 7

It's time again for a new challenge at Allsorts , and don't forget Saturday also means a  new Papercrafters' Linky Party, where you can link up any new or recently made papercraft (Anything Goes) -  The linky is at the end of this post along with last week's top pick.

At Allsorts challenge Tracy Mouse is hosting this week and she would like to see "Bling". We also have a great prize to give away at Allsorts, this week some cute stamps by Little Claire. Hope you'll join us for a chance to win!

I started out by heat embossing the image from the Penny Black set Sweet Smiles on Bristol Vellum paper and watercolored using my Zig Clean Color Watercolor Markers with a Zig Detailer waterbrush. A circle die was used to cut it out to use in my design. The lavender paper is actually really shimmery in real life. It is Mica card stock I received in a sampler pack from Paper Temptress. The butterflies were done using an old Martha Stewart punch and I embellished them with blue rhinestones I've had forever. The striped paper strip is from my stash and the sentiment is from Tim Holtz Metallic Quotations sticker set. I finished off by tying a bow using Burlap Twine.

The zig colors I used are: Hair -oatmeal; skin - pale pink, light carmine (cheeks); shirt - light pink, pants - cobalt blue, light pink; shoes - oatmeal; flowers - light violet mixed with cobalt blue; branch and leaves - green gray, light green.
These are all part of the set of 36 found on Amazon which I linked to, or you get singles at Blick Art Materials. Get FREE SHIPPING from Blick if your order is $35 or more!

If you look really closely you can see the mica shimmer on the closeup above on the lavender card stock. I have also added  Stickles glitter glue to the flower centers for more sparkles.

I followed this week's sketch from the My Favorite Things blog. And I am also joining in a few other challenges.
