Four Seasons December Challenge - When Snow Falls...

Hello and welcome! It's hard to believe but December has arrived and we are switching seasons at the Four Seasons challenge blog. Winter has arrived over there and we are showcasing all things winter for the next 3 months. I do hope this post will go live as scheduled as I am currently on a blogging break until the 10th.

Our mood board for December is below but as always, it is only for inspiration and you may share anything winter related.

Here is what I made:

The mood board inspired me to use the Christmas Cottage stamp by Penny Black and I was also inspired by the overall color scheme of the mood board and created this snowy card.

The sky and snow banks were inked with Stormy Sky Distress Oxide ink and I used a white Posca pen for some splatter. The sentiment is from the Penny Black set When Snow Falls and die cut snowflakes are from the Penny Black die set Dancing Snowflakes
Stickles glitter was applied for some sparkle.

Winter Flora and/or Fauna at Allsorts Challenge

Hello everyone, I am on a blogging break for the next 2 weeks so this and the following few are scheduled posts, hopefully everything will post as planned.

Allsorts challenge new theme is Anything Goes or Winter Flora and/or Fauna. Prizes for this week are 2 stamp sets from  AALL and Create

Here is what I made:

This post may include some affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you purchase something through the links. As always, this is at no cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting this blog!

The focal point is a stamp by Penny Black Holly Berry Bird, colored with Distress Watercolor crayons. Unfortunately I colored out of the line a bit. I have two sets of these watercolor crayons but haven't used them much. Sometimes I think I want to add more sets but other times I feel like I like coloring with the ink pads more. If you have these, how do you like them?

After coloring the image I stamped Penny Black's Christmas Story on the bottom portion and added the die cut berries branch. The edges were sewed and distressed. I added the little tag and sentiment for some interest. The tag is part of an Avery Elle die set (I think Wonky Stitches die set) and sentiment from Penny Black's Holiday Snippets set. The little snowflake I added is part of Penny Black's Dancing Snowflakes die set.

A Christmas Blessing

Hello and happy Saturday! A new theme starts today at Allsorts challenge and Liz is hosting this week. Her optional theme is Ribbon or Twine and of course there is always the Anything Goes option too. Our prize is a Sizzix die set from Craft Stash. As a reminder, all November prize winners will be announced on November 29th and there just might be a few surprise Christmas gifts for our lovely entrants so you may want to mark your calendars.

Here is what I made:

I started by stamping the bird from the Aall and Create set Robin and Nuthatch then colored with Zig Clean Color markers. Next I used a piece of acetate to add diluted Distress Oxide ink (Pine Needles) onto the background. The pine branches are from Penny Black's die set Ornamental Branch, cut out and inked using the same Pine Needles ink. Sentiment is also by Penny Black from the set Festive Cheer. I added red ribbon and bow made of golden cord. A few red rhinestones finish off the card.

I Spy With My Little Eye.............. Something for Christmas (Challenge No. 21)

Hello everyone and welcome to a new I Spy With My Little Eye challenge taking place right here on my blog! Pauline and I are back with a new theme and we hope you'll come join in the fun!

Before I get to that, I wanted to let you know that we are taking a break over the holidays so there won't be a challenge in December. This challenge runs as usual and will end on Sunday December 15th, but the Top Picks won't be announced until the January challenge.

I do want to invite you to join in this year's Papercrafters Year in Review hop (where we share our own favorites of the year) which will happen at the end of the year. You can read all the details here.

This month it's Pauline's turn to host and she picked the theme of...............

I spy with my little eye....

Something For Christmas.

Perfect for this time of the year and we can't wait to see all your wonderful Christmas makes. Remember you may enter up to 5 creations following the theme.

And here is what we came up with:

The background was done using a Cuttlebug embossing folder I've had for ages. I used Rustic Wilderness ink to ink the "debossing" part of the folder before running it through the Big Shot machine. "Merry Christmas" die is by Penny Black -Ornamental Branch, I adhered the die cut onto a strip of red shimmer paper then added this to the embossed piece. The image is part of the Penny Black set Scarved Cuties, colored with Zig Clean Color markers and fussy cut. The extra present is part of the set. I embellished with some sequin ribbon and a little bow. Frosted Lace Stickles glitter was applied to the hat.

Love and Adoration

Hello and welcome! It's Saturday again and that means it's time for my Allsorts card share. This week Gail is our host and for her optional theme she selected Food and/or Drink. Of course you are welcome to share all your other crafty makes (up to 3 per entrant) for our Anything Goes option. So please do join us for your chance to win. We have two beautiful Card-io stamp sets to give away.

And here is what I made:

I originally wanted to use an old PSX grapes and wine stamp but I found that the rubber completely hardened and I was unable to use it. Now to find a way to soften it up so I can use it again!! My second choice was this cute stamp from the Penny Black set Love & Happiness. I stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copic markers. I inked the edges with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo ink. On the background I used the Aall and Create mini set Define Love (sold out from the A&C site but should be available through some of their retailers). Then I used patterned paper scraps from my stash to add to the top left and bottom right. Still thought it needed something else so I got my sewing machine out and stitched around the edges. A button and jute twine finish it off. I also added stickles glitter to the roses and bubbles inside the glasses, better seen in the photo above.

The Wallace Family

It's Saturday again and time for a new theme at Allsorts challenge. But before I get to that I wanted to let you know that we are looking to add a few more design team members to the team. And starting with the last December challenge, Allsorts will no longer be a weekly challenge but every two weeks instead from that point on. You can read this post if you are interested in applying for a design team position.

So this week our theme is simply..........Christmas. Prizes are from Lavinia Stamps

I finally managed to use Lavinia's Berry Wreath stamp. It's one of those stamps I had to have but then somehow couldn't use is properly. (I've had it for a few years!!) And I have to admit this card took me several tries too because I couldn't get the wreath stamped the way I wanted it to be.

I added some snowbanks with a torn paper mask. All stamps are from Lavinia -The Wallace Family, Snow Falls, Small Snowflakes, Mini North Star and of course Berry Wreath. I used a colored pencil to color the berries. All inking was done with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink. I used a white Posca pen for snowy splatter.

Related Products:

I added a bow on the top where the wreaths stamped images meet (I stamped it twice) and lots of stickles glitter for some sparkle.

Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday - November and December Challenge

Hello and welcome to Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday Challenge taking place right here on my blog. As you may have noticed in the title, this challenge will run for two months so you have until the end of December to join in this time.

It was so great seeing many of you joining in last month, thank you all for sharing your creativity. The Top Picks are at the end of this post.

As most of you know, the theme is now always ....

Anything Goes

and instead of a challenge theme there will be a "Top Pick Twist", meaning I will select a twist from all of the entries for the Top 3. Nobody will know what the twist will be (not even me) until the end of the challenge. So do link up all of your crafty makes, your entry might be the one inspiring the Top Pick twist :) Btw, since this linky is open for 2 months you are welcome to share up to 6 creations and I will select a Top 6 (3 from each month).

Before I share my card I wanted to let you know that the linky tool for the Papercrafters Year in Review is now open. Any papercrafter with a blog is invited to sign up for this fun end of year blog hop where we share our own favorites of the year. You can read all about it here

And here is what I made:

I used one of Penny Black's Masterpieces Made Simple pieces for the focal point. They really make it easy to create a pretty card with but it does feel a bit like cheating as I didn't use any stamps or inks to create the image panel.

All I did here was add the sentiment, berries die cut and snowflake die cut, and then some stickles glitter. I framed it with dark brown cardstock and then mounted onto a card base which is from Stampin Up from a  card kit I recently found at a thrift store. They had several sets of card kits and have to admit I mainly purchased them for the envelopes that were included but no reason not to use the other pieces too.

Top Picks with aTwist - October

As always there was such a great variety of themes represented and selecting just three following a twist is never easy. But I finally managed and the twist from the October challenge is............ Embossing, meaning each one of my top picks included some sort of embossing.

They are listed in the order of entry:

No. 23 Debbie M.

No. 58 Kate

The Wonder of the Season

Hello again, I am back with my second card for today. To see my card for the October Card Chain Challenge please click here.

At Allsorts challenge our theme this week is............. Magic of the Season of course that comes with the option of Anything Goes. We'd love to have you joining us for a chance to win. This week our prize comes from AALL and Create, an A 4 stamp set.

And here is what I made:

This post may include some affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you purchase something through the links. As always, this is at no cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting this blog!

I created this outdoorsy scene using products from Penny Black - Into the Sky, Christmas Story, Season's Gifts, Beneath the Birches die set, Dancing Snowflakes die set. The die I used for the sentiment is many years old from Whimsy Stamps and no longer available.

I used Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink for the sky and hills and then used a white Posca Pen for snowy splatter. Stickles glitter was applied to the die cut snowflakes and branches for some icy sparkle but unfortunately it doesn't show up well in the photo.
