A happy snowman

Hi everyone!

Hope you had a fantastic weekend and a great start of the week. We had some beautiful weather again here this weekend and a record high on monday. The kids really enjoyed playing outside. So no complaints here! Just hoping it will last a little longer.

It's time for another challenge over at Digital Tuesday. The lovely Amy is our hostess and she wants us and you to use some of that never used stash that we have in our collection. Thank you for this challenge Amy, as I have been waiting to use this designer paper and the snowman for some time now it just never happened (until now!).

The snowman image is from Sassy Cheryl, I bought it sometime in August I believe but never used it. It's been colored with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils and blended with baby oil.

The Designer paper is from S.E.I ( double sided, "glitzmas collection"), I had picked up a couple of sheets 2 or 3 months ago at a local stamping store and haven't used any of it yet either. These 2 things immediately came to mind when I saw what the challenge was.

The card is kept pretty simple, the sketch is an old one from Mojo Monday. I embellished with just a few punched out snowflakes (Martha Stewart Punch), some grosgrain ribbon and stickles glitter. I also used an old Stampin Up stamp from the set "itty bitty background" around the image. The sentiment is also from Stampin up.

Here's a closeup at the snowman.
Here are some other challenges I am entering this to:
I hope you'll join us in this fun challenge. As usual we have an amazing sponsor, this week Dustin Pike is back offering 3 digis from his store to one lucky winner!

And just a reminder, if you have any winter/christmas Penny Black stamps, I'd love if you join us at the November Penny Black @ All sorts challenge with the theme of "it's beginning to look a lot like christmas". Some amazing prizes up for grabs there!

Have a great day!
Ellie.

Sketch Something

Happy Friday and thanks so much for stopping by my blog!

It's time for another challenge at stamp something, this week we have a sketch challenge for you. Our sponsor is DRS Designs offering a great prize to one lucky winner. I hope you'll join us!

Here is the sketch, you may embellish as you like, flip or rotate.

For my card I used a brand new stamp from Northwoods rubber stamps, that I got from a local stamping store.

It's been colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil. I applied lots of Dazzling Diamonds glitter with a 2 way glue pen to the card for lots of shimmer. I wish it would show up better on the picture.

I decided to keep my card clean and simple, and embellished with just a couple of brads and some ribbon, and more sparkles on the designer paper.

My card also fits these challenges:

That is all for today, hope you'll play along this week.
And just a reminder, the November challenge is posted at Penny Black at All sorts, would love it if you join us there, maybe you can combine the two challenges for more chances to win!

Happy weekend!

Ellie.

DTC #83 - I've been framed

Happy Tuesday!!

Hope you had a great start of the week!
It's time for a new challenge over at Digital Tuesday, it's Shelly's turn to host this week and the challenge we have for you is called

I've been framed

Include some sort of frame on your card.

I used an image from our sponsor, Robyn's fetish, who also generously let the Design Team play with some of her images. This one is called Poppy Fairy.

The image has been printed on couture 80lb card stock and then colored with derwent coloursoft pencils blended with baby oil. I made a "frame" with a Martha Stewart around the page punch (layered arches) and then adhered that to a white rectangle.

I had the Designer Paper forever in my stash, but never used. It's by My Minds Eye. The sentiment is from stampin up (warm wishes - retired in the US), I punched it out with a word window punch and then layered it on a small punched oval. To finish this card off I did some paper piercing on the white paper strip and around the image, added a little bit of ribbon and of course I had to add glitter to the fairy's wings.

Here's a closeup of the image.

Here's some other challenges I am entering this to:

Hope you'll join in the fun this week for a chance at a fantastic prize from Robyn's Fetish.

Have a great day.
Ellie.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Happy Monday everyone!

I am so excited to share today's post with you. It's my first Design Team card I made for the Penny Black @ All sorts monthly challenge.

This month the theme we have for you is

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

You can get your inspiration from the beautiful Christmas song, or simply from the title.

I hope all you Penny Black lovers will join us, there are several fun prizes up for grabs and you can enter up to 3 times with a new card or other project.

For my card I used the stamp "Caroling Trio". It was so much fun to color!!

I've used my derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil. The designer paper is from Basic Grey and cardstock fom Stampin up and couture 80lb. I decided to do some distressing and also sewed the edges. Embellished with some brads, pine tree button, silver cord and of course stickles glitter. The sentiment is from an old retired stampin up set.

I am also entering my card to these challenges:

I can't wait to see what you all come up with using your Penny Black stamps. Several amazing prizes up for grabs so be sure to play along!! Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's amazing work!
