Penny Black and More - January Challenge

It's the first Sunday of the Month (and the year!), and that means it's time for a brand new challenge for you over at Penny Black and More!

Our theme for January is

"Love is in the air".

Below is my creation. I used the super adorable stamp "Captivated" by Penny Black. It's been way too long since I used it last, and I thought it would be perfect for this challenge.

I used pencils for coloring. The papers are from a pack by Lost and Found I think.

I thought the sentiment "so happy together" would be perfect for this cute froggie couple. It's from the set "Key to my heart" from Whimsy Stamps.

It's been embellished with a button and twine. The border was done using a die by MFT.

Strawberry Dreamer

Good morning everyone and many thanks for visiting! Hope your day is going good so far!

It's going to be a busy one for me, since I have to work later today :-( 

But really excited for tomorrow as we are going to see the Swan Lake Ballet!

I made the card below for Whimsy Stamps Review Day, using one of Whimsy's December released stamps. This one is from the Elisabeth Bell's Little Cottage Cuties collection -  Strawberry Dreamer.

Thought I'd get  my copics out for this one, not exactly thrilled about the coloring, but I can't just have them sit unused forever!

The papers are from a DCWV stack (sweet stack is the name I believe). I really love the pretty papers in that stack, but haven't used it for a while, thought this strawberry paper was perfect for the image.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Everyday Sayings Notables 4.

Embellished with a little celery ribbon, and a punched layered butterfly (Martha Stewart). To finish it off I used my sewing machine around the edges.

Word Play Saturday Challenge (coming soon!!)

Some of you might remember that a while back I used to hold a weekly challenge here on my blog, for a short time period, the word play weekend challenge.
I have been playing with the thought of opening it up again, but since there will be a few changes I will just begin with challenge #1 again - starting on January 12th.

This will be a monthly challenge, going live the second saturday of each month.
I will have occasional prizes from my own collection. To be eligible to win the prize you must be or become a follower and you must play along in the challenge.
I might in the future add other sponsors and maybe a few designers too.

The "theme" of the challenge is going to be a word or word combination. Simply create a card or other papercrafting project using the month's word or word combination as your inspiration.

ABC Challenges - E is for....

Good Morning and a

 HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!!

We have a brand new challenge for you over at ABC challenges, we're at the letter E and the challenge is

E is for Embossing.

Heat or dry embossing, or both, whatever you like, as long as there is some form of embossing on your card.

We have not one but two amazing sponsors this time,

Here is what I made.

 

I used the stamp Bella Sole Love Letters from Whimsy's Elisabeth Bell collection. You might also find this stamp at one of our sponsors -  Stamp and Create 

as they also carry Whimsy Stamps products.

The image was stamped using memento ink, onto neenah solar crest card stock. It's been colored using Faber Castell Polychromos and copic markers. 

I've embellished with some die cut keys using the die set "Lock and Key" from Whimsy Stamps.

For my embossing I used two cuttlebug embossing folders. Had them for ages, and I don't remember their names.

The border was done using Whimsy's double scallop square doily, I just cut one of the sides off to use as my border.

I  needed something on the top right corner, so I stamped a flourish from the set "Lavish Flourishes" by Whimsy stamps, and I used a postmark stamp from the set "Vintage Travel postage stamps".
