DTC #78 - Thank you/Give Thanks

Hello and thanks so much for visiting me today.

Since it's Tuesday it's time for another fun digital tuesday challenge. The lovely Lorraine is our hostess this week and the theme she chose is

Thank You/Give Thanks

Our sponsor this week is My Grafico and they generously let the Design Team choose a digi set to work with. We decided to choose Fancy Flowers by Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. It's available at My Grafico.

For my card I used the masking technique. The text stamp is french script by Stampin Up (retired). The poppy is one of the flowers from the My Grafico set. It's been colored using derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil.

My designer paper is from a Basic Grey 6x6 pad. I used a simple sketch, added a lace doily and did some distressing. Embellished with some ribbon, pearls and glitter. The sentiment is from Stampin Up .

Challenges:

Hope you get a chance to join us this week, a digiset from My Grafico and 30% off an order is up for grabs. All you have to do is make a project following the theme and be sure to use a digi.

Have a great day,
Ellie .

Some news and a non-traditional christmas card

Hello and happy weekend!!

Before I get to my card I have some exciting news to share.
I unexpectedly received an email from Denise from the
stamp something challenge blog
offering me a Design Team Spot on the Stamp Something team. How exciting!!! Of course I could not resist since Stamp Something was one of the first challenge blogs I played in when I first started blogging. I am starting my term next friday and I am super excited!!!

Now onto my card...this tuesday I received my Lili of the Valley stamps from the UK and of course I had to play in this week's LOTV challenge. The theme is "Non-traditional Christmas". I just love this stamp, it was the reason for my order and it's perfect for the challenge. (In case anyone is wondering, the order took exactly 14 days to get to me in IL from the UK- and the shipping charges were very reasonable).

Image has been stamped on couture 80lb card stock and colored using derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil. I sponged the edges using Stampin up's soft sky ink. I layered it on SU's basic gray card stock. Designer Paper is from Stampin up too.
The sketch is super simple, I really wanted the image to be the main focus on the card. Embellished with some layered snowflakes (Martha Stewart punch), some ribbon and of course I added lots of stickles glitter (frosted lace). To finish the card off I did some machine stitching. Sentiment is from Stampin Up.

This card was made for the following challenges:
That's it for today. Thanks so much for visiting my blog! Hope you liked the project.

Have a great day,
Ellie.

DTC #77 It's all about the girls

Happy Tuesday everyone and thanks so much for visiting me today.
It's time for another challenge at Digital Tuesday. It's Lora's turn to host and this week she wants to see

All things girly

Super fun and easy, we all like to make girly cards right, so hope you all join in!!

For my card I used my other brand new (to me) Mo Manning image, Strawberry girl. Got it a few weeks ago and since I hadn't used it yet I decided to use it today.

It's been printed on couture 80lb card stock and colored using derwent coloursoft pencils blended with baby oil and copic markers for her skin.

I wanted to enter my card to this week's Mo's Digital Challenge, with the theme "bright white" so I did not use any designer papers and all my layers are white. I did add a red butterfly underneath the white one for some shading.

The papers were embossed using my big kick and a couple of cuttlebug embossing folders. I added some stickles glitter around the image, strawberries and embossing. Then paper pierced around the image. To finish the card off I added a few pearls and white grosgrain ribbon.
My sentiment was a freebie I received from Funky Kits with my order.

In addition to digital tuesday and Mo's digital challenge my card also fits the following challenges
This week it's my turn to sponsor the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog with Digital Stamp Oasis. The winner gets to choose 3 digis from my etsy store.
And since I didn't use a digi from DSO for my design team card I am going to show you here a card that I made a few months ago using the image "Costume kids-bee". It think this image would be so cute to use for a halloween card or to make a tag for a halloween treat bag.
Info for this card can be found here.

That is all for today, I do hope you will join in this week's digital tuesday challenge. And be sure to check out the rest of the design team's projects. They are gorgeous - as always!!

Have a great day,

DTC #76 --sports theme

Hello and happy tuesday!!

Time for another challenge over at digital tuesday. Kristine is our hostess this week, and the theme she chose for us is

"sports".

Now this was a challenge for me. Wow. I don't particularly like sports, so I didn't even have any sports digistamps. So this was very challenging for me.

I really didn't want to purchased an image that I was only going to use once, so I looked through my digifiles again and again until I came up with the idea of using this cute elephant image from Dustin Pike but added a soccer ball.

I found the soccer ball image by googling images. Everything's been colored using derwent coloursoft pencils blended with baby oil. I had the stars designer paper forever, it's from a SU simply scrappin kit, back when they were still $9.95. The other designer paper is also from SU, from one of their 6x6 packs.

The stars came from the same simply scrappin kit, I have never used it and I am so happy that I finally found a reason to use some of the kit. Sentiment is from a really old SU kit (mini mates) - love all of the little sentiments that are included in that set).

I embellished with some eyelets, stickles gitter and a little bit of ribbon. Then did some zigzag stitching with my janome mini.

In addition to digital tuesday, I am entering this card to the following challenges:

Dustin Pike is back with us again this week, and the winner gets to choose 3 of his adorable digis. All you have to do for a chance to be entered is make a card using a sports theme, don't forget to use a digi from any company, and then just link your card to our challenge blog using mr linky.

Thanks so much for stopping by today,
have a great day!!
