Masculine Card for Allsorts Challenge

Hello and welcome!
It's Saturday again that means it's time for a new theme at Allsorts challenge. It's Wendy's turn to host this week and she wants to see something for boys or men. Hope to see you joining us this week. We have a great prize by Rare Earth to give away to one lucky, randomly selected winner.

Maybe this card looks familiar to you. I made and shared a similar one a couple of months ago, using a similar design and colors, but there are differences, you can take a look at that card here. 

I started out by inking the background using Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Pumice Stone  distress inks, then used stamps from the Penny Black set Nature's Friends to add to the scene. The trees (cut with the Penny Black die set  Beneath the Birches) were adhered to the inked card before adding the embossed frame.

To make the frame I first dry embossed a white card stock using an old Cuttlebug embossing folder (I can't find this exact one, but there are alternative options) then I used a die from the Wonky Stitches die set, but used the "negative" instead of the stitched piece as a frame. This was then adhered onto a white heavy weight card base.

The Animal Kingdom at Allsorts Challenge

I thought the Penny Black stamp Let's Go Wild was a perfect choice for this challenge and this was an extremely easy card to make. I wish I could tell you I made the background by myself, but it's a piece of pattern paper I found in my box of scraps. So I simply stamped the animals and tree (it's a red rubber stamp I won a while ago, but it's unmounted and I don't remember which company it was from) using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I wiped the inkpad along the edges to darken them then mounted onto white card stock. The sticky sentiment is another quote from Tim Holtz' Quotations set. The card base is from Stampin Up.

Midmonth Inspiration for Penny Black and More March Challenge

Hello and welcome! Strange times we live in. I'm sure most all of us are in some way affected by this virus situation. Our schools have closed, as well as eat-in restaurants and a few other non-essential places. We're pretty much all staying home (besides my husband due to his work) but I'm trying to keep our home life as normal as possible under these circumstances while following the government regulations. Believe me, I'm not being insensitive over the issues but I chose to remain calm and plan to continue posting to my blog as I usually do. There is not much any of us can do about the situation at this point other than following the government guidelines...

Anyway, today we're sharing some midmonth inspiration at the Penny Black and More challenge blog. Still plenty of time to join us for a chance to win one of our great prizes! This month - perfect for the time of the year - we want to see "Spring Flowers".

I was playing along in the #dailymarker30day coloring challenge hosted by Kathy of The Daily Marker and this was one of the images I've colored so far (I haven't had time to color many...)

The tulips from the Penny Black set Blooming Garden of course were perfect to use for this Spring Flowers challenge so I made a clean and simple-ish card with it. Heat embossed using my usual  Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink  and Clear Ultra Fine Embossing Powder , then I used Distress markers for coloring. I think the background is too yellow, but that's how it turned out and there is no reason to waste it even if it's not so perfect. I added some dots using Penny Black Oscillations stencil. A stitched frame die by Avery Elle was used to cut it out, then adhered onto a purplish card stock by Stampin Up. I no longer sort by color so I have no idea what this color is called or if it's still available. The sentiment is a sticker from Tim Holtz's Quotations set.

Lots of Dots for Allsorts Challenge

I decided to make an Easter card using a cute Penny Black stamp - What a Spring. This is one of their older wood mounted stamps and I only found one currently available on eBay. 

I heat embossed the image using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and Clear Embossing Powder, then colored using Copic markers. I had this design in mind which meant fussy cutting the image. All animals and butterflies are part of this stamp. 

The sentiment is is also by Penny Black, another wood mounted stamp, unfortunately I can't find a link to it anywhere - it's really old, and was part of a lot of stamps I bougth from eBay a few years ago.

To follow the 'lots of dots' theme I decided to use dotted pattern paper for the sky and I inked a die cut "hill" using distress ink. My stitched hill border die is from a set I received when I was on the Whimsy Stamps design team years ago and retired. This set by Lawn Fawn is similar. When everything was assembled on the card front I framed it with yellow card stock then added to a Heavyweight White Cardstock base. It's hard to see, but all the images were adhered with Foam Tape to make the pop up. Should have added some glitter to the butterflies and flowers, but didn't think of it until after I had taken the pictures.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you're having a good week! Our state (Illinois) cancelled all schools here for the next two weeks, so that means my schedule will be somewhat different. Kids will have to do their schoolwork on their computers at home. Not ideal, but at least they will still be able to do some work. Hoping everything will be back to normal in April! But who knows....At least I have enough papercrafting supplies to last me forever 🤓, although I may run out of glue...in fact I only have an open bottle so may need to stop at the craft store tomorrow. And I’m out of glue dots! They better not close the craft stores!!!
