Sunny Wishes on a Cloudy Day

No sunshine here for several days, perfect timing for a spring themed flower-y card here on my blog :-)

This card almost didn't happen, not sure where the time went, but this month seems to be flying by, and I almost didn't get a card done for our Midway reminder at Penny Black and More. Although we aren't required to make a "reminder" card, I definitely wanted to create something. I have several brand new  Penny Black stamps here, and this one was one of my must haves!

It wasn't easy to photograph the card due to the size, so I tried using copic markers as a prop. The lighting wasn't ideal either. It was dark when I took the photos and only used my daylight lamp which shined too much light onto the top of the card... I need a bigger daylight lamp :-)

Below is a smaller version of the card, in case some of you have trouble viewing the large photo.

This is a large stamp, perfect for tall cards. My finished card measures around 7.25 x 4.5 inches.

Image was colored with copic markers and I applied stickles glitter to the flower centers and butterflies. Card is kept CAS, I just added a couple strips of designer paper and some machine sewing along the edges. Our challenge theme is "Anything Goes with a Stamp and a Die" so I added my sentiment on a die cut tag ( using Whimsy Stamps Stitched Tag Dies set) and also added a die cut to the top corner (also from Whimsy Stamps - Corner Dies Set) to cover up a  crooked stitch in the corner :-)

I thought the card needed something else next to the vase, so I stamped the sentiment "Sunny Wishes" and a butterfly, which are both part of this beautiful set.

This is what the complete set looks like.
I currently have one more left HERE in my Etsy shop for US shipping.

I am also playing along in these challenges:
Be sure to stop by the Penny Black and More challenge blog to see what the rest of the Design Team created and to link your card there. As usual you may use any stamp manufacturer, just no digi stamps. We have several wonderful prizes to give away again.
Have a  great day!!

Whimsy Inspires - February Challenge

Good morning!
It's the 3rd Wednesday of the month, time for the monthly Whimsy Stamps challenge. This month the theme is anything goes, so come play along for a chance to win a Whimsy prize.

When I shared this cute little goody bag I made for my daughter a little while ago, I mentioned that I would be making a boy version too. Here it is using Whimsy's new "Frog Prince" stamp. I made this one for my son and filled it with some goodies.

The image has been colored using copic markers and Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.  The two hearts in the "sky" part are from the Whimsy stamp set "All you need is love" from an older release. When I was taking this photo, I was still playing with the thought of adding the die cut "Love" to the bag, but in the end I left it off. The love die is also from Whimsy, and  I also used one of Whimsy's stitched border dies for the hill behind the frog. The grass in front has been simply cut using scissors.
The goody bag instructions can be found HERE on Splitcoast Stampers. If you ever need a little treat bag, this one is super easy to make. Of course mine took a little longer because of the colored image, fussy cutting, etc, but the basic instructions are really quick and easy.

Birthday Animals

Happy Monday! Hope your week is off to a great start.
I have a new card to share today using a cute image from Bugaboo stamps. I've had this image for a little while, but never actually used it. And it's so cute!!

I found this one in Bugaboo's Word Art section.

A pretty easy card to make. After coloring with copic markers I simply mounted it onto the card front, added a strip of designer paper and then a scalloped edge to the bottom.   I applied glassy glaze to the balloons and glitter to the hats, ice cream topping and presents. The dots around the image were done using an old SU stamp. I added a button and some twine as embellishment and finished the card off by sewing along the top and bottom of the card.

I am entering this card here:

Let's Color Linky Party 3 - Anything goes with Something Colored

Good Morning, Happy Weekend :-)
Hope you're  having some fun things planned and that the weather isn't too bad in your part of the world.
Chilly and windy over here in the Midwest, hoping it'll warm up soon. Phil, the groundhog did not see his shadow, so an early spring has been predicted :-)

It's time already for a new Let's Color Linky Party and I'd like to thank all of you that played along last time.  Be sure to scroll down to see if your entry was one of the top picks.

There is a tiny little change I am making, starting today, I will not mention anymore "optional themes". I think they just caused confusion. So from now on forward every linky party will simply be

Anything goes with something colored.

And here is what I made for today using a brand new "Mimi" stamp by Penny Black.

This set was just released and I have it available HERE in my Etsy shop (brand new) for US shipping. It's such a cute set for Spring and Easter.

Papers I used here are from my stash. I colored the image  using copic markers and also a pencil for part of the hair. I embellished with some tiny flowers, sticky pearls and ivory jute twine.

The card is also listed in my Etsy shop HERE.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now onto the top picks, it was really hard to choose, I had a little help with the selection from my daughter this time.
So here are our top picks in no particular order:

Today I am sharing a card made with one of Elisabeth Bell's new stamps - Holly Little Spring Helper.

I colored the image using copic markers and also a pencil for some extra shading in her hair. I feel like I went a little bit overboard with embellishments here, I used prima flowers and pearls and a leaf ribbon/trim to surround the image. Designer paper is by Prima Marketing.

Good Morning and happy Wednesday!

Be sure to visit the Whimsy Inspirations blog to see all the newly released stamps, and also to find out how easy it is to win one of the 3 fabulous prizes up for grabs.

Today I am sharing a card made with one of Crissy Armstrong's new stamps - doggie with kite, along with a couple older Whimsy Stamps favorites.

I made a masculine birthday card, using a tangerine, soft sky, white and green olor combo. The dog has been fussy cut after coloring with copic markers then stamped again onto the soft sky card stock. Sentiment is from the set "Boy Talk" from Whimsy Stamps, my go to sentiment set for boy cards.
I added a few die cut stars, which were done with Whimsy's Stacking Star Die
I finished off the card by adding some parrot green jute twine, which is available in my etsy shop.

This card has also just been listed for sale in my Etsy shop.

Penny Black and More - February Challenge

Good Morning and thank you for stopping by! It's already the first Sunday of February and that means time for a new challenge over at the Penny Black and More challenge blog. This month we're making it pretty easy -
Anything goes with a stamp and a die.

Before I forget, both cards and the baby hedgehog stamp I used are listed for sale (brand new) in my Etsy shop,  if you are interested. I have also just recently received my first shipment of some pretty cotton crochet lace and burlap twine, which I now stock. And a few more Penny Black stamps from their upcoming release will be listed soon too :-) Still just shipping to the US only, just checked international shipping cost again, and the prices are out of this world...

I hope you'll come join us for this challenge, don't forget you can use any make of stamps, just be sure it's an actual rubber or clear stamp and not a digi. We have some fun prizes to give away and you can enter up to 3 times for more chances to win.

For today I made two cards, using the same stamps and same sketch, I just switched up the designer paper and small detail.

First up a card for a baby girl. If you are following me on Instagram then you might have already seen it.

Here is the baby boy card I made.

The image has been stamped on xpress it blending card and colored with copic markers and a brown pencil for some shading on the nutshell.
I used some dies and punches to create the design. Papers are from DCWV and Debbie Mumm. Not sure if you can tell, but on the blue and pink card stock I used large background stamp to add a subtle pattern to the paper.
I found the pretty pink lace in my box of ribbons. The color matched the light pink perfectly, so I used it. To the boy card I added some sheer ribbon from SU. Punched butterflies with pearls ware added to both cards and a touch of glitter on the flower center.
