Dandelion Fairy

Last year I treated myself to several new Lavinia stamps and I am finally getting a chance to share something made with some of the stamps.

I started out by masking the moon using a circle die-cut, then inked up the background with Distress Inks. I used Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserves for the purple sky and Peeled Paint with alittle bit of Walnut Stain for the bottom portion. I used a mask made out of torn printer paper for the hills. Before stamping the fairy (Josie), I removed the moon mask. All stamps (besides the tiny sentiment) are by Lavinia. Love how they all work together to create a scene. I heat embossed the fairy using Versafine Onyx ink with clear embossing powder. Not sure I like the embossed effect....I feel like it's too shiny. Although I like the fairy to stand out I feel it's a bit too  much...what do you think?? How do you use these types of Silhouette stamps?

The tiny sentiment is from the Penny Black set Snippets. I finished off the card by layering it onto white card stock and then onto a pink base.

What a sweet card Ellie - it's up to you as to the embossing over the silhouette image - I think it is personal taste, and what rocks you boat won't necessarily rock the next person's. Find ehat makes you satisfied and use that.

Thanks Maxine! Will try without embossing next time, of course then there is always the fear of smearing the ink...

Yes, had to have several of them, now if I would just find the time to ink more of them up!!

I love Lavinia fairies too and I also love the beautiful scene that you've created. I'm always thrilled to see lots of hand stamping as I always find it to be the most original and the most creative. Thank you for joining us in our 'Fabulously Feminine' theme challenge at Stamping Sensations and good luck. Sandra x
