Hello and welcome to the December Crafty Wednesday challenge right here on my blog! I'm so glad you decided to check out this month's theme and hopefully you'll join in! So many wonderful entries last month for the Christmas/Holiday theme, thank you all so much for taking the time to join in! Be sure to scroll down to the end of this post to see if you were the prize winner or one of my top picks!
This Month's Theme
For the month of December I picked the nice and easy theme of ..........
All Creatures Great And Small
this includes animals of all kinds, humans of course and don't forget about those mythical creatures and snowmen! I can't wait to see what you'll come up with this month and hope to see you link up below!
I recently made a similar card with a different stamp and sentiment but loved how it turned out so I decided to make a few more. Here is one, and I will share another one done with this technique in my Saturday post.
I started out by flicking Masking Fluid with a cheap paint brush onto bristol vellum paper and let this completely dry. (Be sure to wash the brush ASAP as it will dry on and you'll end up throwing the brush away). Next I inked up the paper using Distress Oxides Tumbled Glass, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire with a blending tool.
Related Products:
For this card I stamped and heat embossed the images on a separate piece of Bristol Vellum Paper, then colored with distress inks (regular inks not the oxides). I'm sure most of you have used ink pads for coloring before, but if not, all I do is press a corner of the ink pad onto a clear block (you can use any non-porous surface) then pick up the color with a wet brush (I use theZig Detailer brush) to color the image. One of my critters comes from the set Holly Jolly Critters and the other critter plus star are part of the wood mounted stamp Listening To Stars.

I used a stitched border die - similar die set - to create the hill, then added the fussy cut animals.
The sentiment from my favorite Christmas sentiment set Penny Black Season's Gifts was stamped and heat embossed directly onto the background. Glitter was added to the star and hat with a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.
