Hello and welcome!
It's Saturday again and that means it's time already for a new theme at Allsorts challenge! This week it's Lorraine's turn to host and she would like to see something "For a Child". We have some great prizes to give away - a digi prize by Ruth Hamilton Design and some Wizard of Oz stamps. Hope you'll join in for your chance to win!
And here is what I made:
I decided to ink up this cute Mimi stamp from the Penny Black set Big Wish. Stamped with Versafine Onyx on Bristol Vellum paper and I first gave the image a light coloring with distress inks then got my Faber Castell Polychromos out to add more color and some shading. Cutterbee scissors were used for fussy cutting.
Before adding the image, I inked a stencil design to the background using Tumbled Glass Distress ink. The stencil is part of this Stampers Anonymous set.
As you can see, I didn't fussy cut the balloon string, instead I stamped the image again on my card front. Then layered the Avery Elle heart frame die cut over and finally added the image and balloon with foam tape.
The stamps and dies I used can all be found on Amazon (US):
The beautiful large sentiment is from the Penny Black set Happy Wishes. Thought it was a perfect match for this cute girl that looks like she is making a birthday wish. The small happy birthday sentiment is part of a sentiment from my new Colorado Craft stamp set Big Love.
After all was assembled, I decided I wanted to add some spatter to the card, so I covered my image to avoid any spatter on it and flicked some Dusty Concord ink onto the card. Something I would have preferred to think of before the card was finished, but sometimes I don't think of things until the end.
As mentioned in the post title, I am also sharing the re-make of my "gelli print fail" card. But first I wanted to say a huge thank you for the wonderful tips I received on that post. I really appreciate all your input!

Aww - I am loving the sweet little girl birthday card with the lovely flowing script sentiment.
The small changes you’ve made to your GP bird card have made quite a difference when looking at the before and after shots. I love the addition of white and the repainted birds. Top job on the revamp!!!

Cute card for a little girl, I love the spatters, great add.
And you have redone your birds card, so fresh and lovely this time, congrats;-))m
She is so sweet and I love how you put her on the die cut wreath. Your gelli print card looks great and you can see the changes that make for a cleaner looking card.
Fabulous little girl card Ellie, your colouring is brilliant and love the composition with the stencilling, die and spatters .. plus fab sentiment. The changes to your gel plate card are subtle but do make quite a big difference .. the fussy cut birds definitely pop more .. great job

Such a sweet card and fabulous fussy cutting of those birds! Thank you for playing along with us at Sweet Stampin'. Tracey
What adorable cards! I like seeing how you used the heart frame die since I have that one myself and have not used it yet; though I am planning to play around with making some Valentine cards soon. your remake came out great; I think fussy cutting the birds so they stood out a bit more was just perfect!
Nicely dont, I don't think the first attempt was a fail...we are so critical of what we create!
I love them both and thanks for getting gelly with Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!
These are great!!!! I really, really love that second card. Thanks so much for gelling with us at the Sisterhood!
A great 'remake' of the gelli plate card Ellie, and the other card is a wonderful card for a little person - or even a slightly bigger person :)
Stay safe
Blessings

Hello Ellie, I can see how the second version of your gelli plate card has cleaner lines and more focused on the image - but, to be honest, the older version was lovely in it's own way too. I also agree with a previous comment that we can be too critical of ourselves sometimes. Love the sweet birthday card as well!
Thanks for joining in with us at Sweet Stampin' this time, hope to see you again.
