April Card Chain Challenge Reveal Day

Hello and welcome! Happy May! I can hardly believe it's May! The weather this past month hasn't been great and  April seemed more winter like than spring  and I still have early spring blooms in the garden. Not sure I ever had Daffodils blooming in May but they are blooming beautifully along with my Tulips and a few Grape Hyacinths.

Today I am sharing my card for the April Card Chain Challenge. For those of you new, Card Chain Challenge is a different type of a challenge, a worldwide card exchange where everyone mails and receives one card following a variety of challenge options. (You only need to choose one.) And today is reveal day where we can see who sent what to whom.

My April CCC card went to Arlene in California. And here is what I made:

As always, we are given several challenge options - a sketch, colors, themes and techniques. For this month I went with the color option although I REALLY wanted to give the sketch a try too, but it didn't work out so I decided to go with just the colors instead. And it also fits the theme of "Spring" which sis also one of the options.

When I saw these colors I knew I wanted to make a bee themed card :-)  I had a couple other bee themed stamps in mind but then decided on this Anique Bee and Flowers stamp from Hero Arts as it's one of my favorites and I hadn't used it in a while.

It's been stamped with Memento Tuxedo ink and colored with Copic markers then I used a simple scallop die to cut it out with my Big Shot machine. "Hello There" is another sticker from Tim Holtz's retired Quotations metallic sticker sheet.

Related Products:

I am not sure what embossing folder was used on the background as it was a piece included as "pearl safekeeping" for a card I previously received through card chain challenge. And I thought it was so perfect to use on this card.

Paper strips are from my stash and I used a green SU card base to complete the card. A Sakura Stardust clear glitter gel pen was used on the bee's wings for some sparkle.

Still some time to sign up for May if you'd like to take part. You can find the sign up linky here. Any card maker is welcome as long as you are able to make and mail a card in a timely manner so your recipient (hopefully) receives it by the time the reveal post goes live which is the 2nd of each month. It's a fun and different challenge concept as everyone mails and receives a card.

Here is the beautiful card I received from Dawn in New Zealand. I love these colors and the gold foiling makes it extra special! I've not done gold foiling before but think that's what she did.

Thanks so much for visiting!

PS: You may be wondering (or not) why I didn't share a card yesterday for the new Stamping Sensations challenge. I decided to step down from the team as I needed to free up some time for family things. Got to get my husband on a more alkaline diet for health reasons and let me tell you it's not easy. Even some of the healthy foods are acidic so I am trying to make meals at least less acidic. Wish me luck as I try to re-invent the things I cook. Then of course gardening season is approaching so more time will be spent outside, thought it was best to step down from a team before I completely run out of mojo.

Your card is beautifully designed and it really appeals to me. The scalloped circle was a great choice for cutting the image, super layout too. Eye candy:)

I love that geometric background! What a beautiful card and after seeing so many cute ones with bees I kind of want to drag out my bee set... only I can't remember where I put them.

A beautiful card Ellie - that bee stamp is a classic, and the wreath is so delicate and pretty. i think the paper may have been embossed with an older CTMH folder

Your card is beautiful, what fabulous dimension. It is interesting that many of this months cards featured bees, even though they weren't specifically mentioned in the options. Perhaps it just shows their popularity. Sorry to hear you have stepped down from Stamping Sensations, but I understand the difficulties with time. Good luck with the diet changes xx
