Whimsy Stamps November Showcase Day 6

Hello and welcome to Day 5 of our November Rubber Die Release Showcase!

On Wednesday (16 November) Whimsy Stamps released this month's rubber designs and new shapeology dies. From then until 23 November the Whimsy Stamps DT and Special Guests are showcasing these fabulous new stamps and dies with a daily mini blog hop.

Each mini blog hop has a new release prize hidden somewhere along the way and you have 24hrs to enter each prize draw.

To be entered into today's mini blog hop prize draw, be sure to leave a comment on ALL of the DesignTeam's posts listed below by 12.00PM EST tomorrow. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy Inspirations blog after 12.00PM EST on 23 November.

And here is what I created for today using the adorable Wee Stamp
"A letter for me" along with Raindrop Echo Design's "Everyday Mini Postage Stamps".

I went with a simple look for this, just used a few buttons and linen thread to embellish, and did some machine sewing.

The papers are from the linen pack by DCWV.
I colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and blended with baby oil.

I have been getting a few emails asking how I do my coloring, I am not good at doing tutorials, but anyone interested in this technique, you can find lots of tutorials on You-tube, the technique is called gamsol magic, and I just use baby oil in place of mineral spirits and Derwent Coloursoft Pencils instead of Prismacolor Pencils, although I have many of those too. I do want to let you know, that it matters what kind of card stock you use, I find that Neenah solar crest works best for me (others that I have tried are GP 110lb, Stampin Up and Gina K. - the pencils don't blend as well on the other papers that I used.)

As I mentioned above the postage stamps are from the set "Everyday Mini Postage stamps" by Raindrop Echo Designs. I used the mini postage shapeology die to cut them out.

Not much more to tell about this card. I hope you like it!

I would like to enter it to the following challenges:

Remember that the entire new release is available to buy right now from the Whimsy Stamps store along with all your Whimsy favourites.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check back tomorrow for the last day of the November Release Showcase.

Oh Ellie, this is adorable. I have never seen this paper before and will have to check it out.

The stitching is perfect. I also have admired your coloring and it is good to know how you do it. I have tried this techique before and had some trouble with it. It was probably the paper. Thank you for letting us know what the best paper to use is.

Also, thank you for your sweet comment on my blog :o) hugs
