Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday - November Challenge

Hello everyone and welcome to a new theme at Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday challenge which takes place right here on my blog!  A big thank you to everyone that joined in last month, it was great seeing your wonderful outdoors/ nature themed creations. Be sure to scroll down to see if you were the winner or one of my top picks.

This Month's Theme:

For the month of November I picked the theme of

 "Christmas and Seasonal Holidays"

So feel free to share your Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years, etc. creations. Remember, you may enter up to 3 times per month and be sure to leave a link back here to my blog in order to be entered into the prize drawing. You may combine this with any other challenges and use any craft company you like :-)

I am sharing two cards today...

First up a CAS card using Penny Black's stamp Snowy Perch. With the help of my Stamp Platform I stamped the image using  Memento Tuxedo Ink  on Xpress It blending card. I stamped the image a second time so I could cut out the bird using a circle die. A few Copic markers were used to add a little bit of color to the bird. The little sentiments are from Penny Black's set Holiday Snippets. Mounted onto a Stampin Up green card base and finished off with some ribbon from my stash.

Challenges entered:
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes with PB
Dream Valley Challenges-Dies and Punches (circle die)
City Crafter Challenge - Weekly - Woodland Animals
Sunny Day Crafting - Any Animals Always
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
A Gem of a Challenge - Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps - Anything Goes with Ribbon optional
Stamping Sensations - Get Ready for Christmas

Hero Arts October MMH Kit // Zig Clean Color Markers // Zig Detailer Brush // Bristol Vellum Paper // Versamark Ink // Versafine Onyx Ink // Gold Embossing Powder // Clear Embossing Powder

For my second card I used the Hero Arts October My Monthly Hero Kit. This kit can currently still be purchased, and in case you are interested, Hero Arts just released their November kit and those will begin shipping on Friday. (ETA: It looks like the November kit is all sold out already, so unless you are a kit subscriber, you won't be able to get the November kit any longer. You can subscribe to futre kits HERE.)  All stamps I used are part of the kit, the matching die was used to cut out the cute animals. Don't you just love the look that cat's face ... he looks like he's thinking "oh what fun" in a sarcastic way, while the other two are enjoying the moment :-)

I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder and used the irredescent watercolor medium that's included in the  October MMH Kit to add sparkles along the white edge of the image panel. The photo only shows the top part of the sparkles, but it's been added all along the white edges. More of this glitter on the ornaments and the tree itself. I'm not a pro when it comes to matching dies, so I didn't line the animals die up correctly and got too much white showing on the left side. I usually just fussy cut, but really like having a matching die for some stamps.

Here is a photo of the complete October kit which is currently still in stock - if you'd like to purchase this kit simply click the image to be redirected to the shop.

Two pretty creations Ellie, your use of minimal colour on the first is brave but works so well bringing the birdie to life.

Two fabulous cards! I'm stopping by from the Crafty Catz blog before linking up my own creation. I love the first card with the little bit of "spotlighting" that really helps set off the sweet bird. The gingham ribbon is the perfect finishing touch!

Ellie, two very pretty Christmas cards. The first card actually could be submitted to Try Stamping on Tuesday because you have the TicTacToe requirements for "Stamping, Red and Plaid"...please go back to our post for link and enter this in their challenge. The second card I also found TicTacToe requirements for "Green, Glitter and Stamping" which can also be entered. These will give you additional changes in our random Draw at Double Trouble. Please join us again for future fun challenges.

Two terrific cards! Thank you for adding the second at Shopping Our Stash-- OMG, so cute! I, too, regularly just fussy-cut everything... even if I have matching dies! Love that bird card, too! Great spotlight technique.

Lovely cards. The circle die highlights the bird perfectly and a great example of a little colour can have a lot of impact! Thanks for sharing with us at Stamping Sensations.

Oh, what fabulous Christmas cards. I just watched that Penny Black video yesterday which showed how to pop up a portion of the image in your card. I thought the cards they created were perfect for mass producing and I might do that this year. The second card is so humorous.
