Allsorts Challenge 505: Love

Hello and welcome!
Today I am sharing two cards, both made for this week's Allsorts challenge where Helene is our host and she chose the theme of Love (this will start in a few hours, I accidentally hit publish while editing  the post.) Our prize this week is a stamp by Indigo Blue, so please do come join us for a chance to win!

I have been patiently waiting for my January Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit, but I might have been the last one to receive theirs. After an ice storm it was lost/stuck in St. Louis for about 2 weeks, but shortly after inquiring about it with Hero Arts, it arrived.

For my first card today, I combined the "flower shop" store front from the Hero Arts kit with some cute Penny Black stamps. I also used the matching store front die that comes with the January kit.
(Unfortunately this kit sold out quickly and is no longer available. I am a kit subscriber, so my kit ships automatically. If you are interested in reading about the kit subscriptions, simply visit this link.)

I finally decided to purchase the Versafine Clair Nocturne ink pad, and have to say that ink pad is like magic! All the wonderful things I read about it are so true! All stamping was done with this ink pad and I used my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils for coloring. Unfortunately I don't like how the crosshatch coloring on the large heart turned out ...something I really need some practice with!

The store front was stamped and then die cut and colored. I love how this can be turned into any type of shop. (The kit itself is geared towards a flower shop. But this time it's a Valentines Gift Shop.)

The brick wall was done with a stencil and Pumice Stone Distress Oxide ink and the sentiment is part of the January My Monthly Hero kit. I decided to add some prima flowers to the store front with some sticky pearls as flower centers and some black and white twine finishes off the card.

Next up is a CAS card with coloring on kraft paper.
Stampin Up Gentler Times (retired) // Sentiment from Hero Arts MMH January Kit (sold out) // Versafine Clair Nocturne // Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils // Versamark Ink // White Embossing Powder

I recently found this stamp set at a thrift store, and since I love all things victorian and vintage looking, I just had to get this set! I don't have many stamps in this style. To make my card I stamped one of the images from the set on kraft card stock turning it both ways with some space in between for the sentiment. I used my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils for coloring. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts MMH January Kit  stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed using white embossing powder. I framed the kraft paper with Watermelon Wonder card stock by Stampin Up, then layered onto white card stock. That was actually supposed to be my card base, but guess what?? I glued the kraft paper onto the white paper upside down, so the sentiment was upside down. I was too focused on gluing it down straight and didn't notice it was upside down! I used scor tape which is not at all removable so I ended up with another layer and also some paper piercing. These are the "not so joyful" moments of card making :-)

The heart I stamped on the envelope (using Distress Oxide Abandoned Coral ink) is also from this retired Stampin Up set.
