Hello and welcome to the August Crafty Wednesday challenge right here
on my blog. I'm so glad you decided to check out the new theme and hope you'll
decide to play along too! Thank you all so much for joining me last month,
there were some wonderful entries so be sure to scroll down to see if your
entry made my Top 3!
This Month's Theme
For August I selected the theme of ..................
"For Boys or Men".
Remember, the theme is optional for your inspiration and you may link up any
crafty makes. I can't wait to see what you'll share this month!
This post may include some affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you purchase something through the links. As always, this is at no cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting this blog!
I used an older Hero Arts
My Monthly Hero kit, this is the March 2019 kit and unfortunately no longer available.
I created my underwater scene using Distress inks
Peacock Feathers
and
Chipped Sapphire
and then Stampin Up's
Crumb Cake on the bottom portion of the card. I
used a torn piece of printer paper as a mask to create the ocean floor. The
small fish were stamped using
Pumice Stone
Distress Oxide ink. The orange fish were first inked with
Abandoned Coral
and then
Spiced Marmalade
ink for a reddish orange color.
Related Products:
The rays were done with Tim Holtz's
Rays stencil
and I flicked some water onto the card for a fun reaction. As with all Hero
Arts stamp kits, this one came with matching dies so after stamping I cut out
the orange fish as well as seaweed using the matching dies.
I added a few dew drops (
options) as
embellishments. These were also part of this stamp kit and I love that the kit
included 3 different sizes. The sentiment is part of the kit as well, stamped
using
Versafine Onyx ink
then cut out using a
circle die.
PS: If you enjoy stamps with matching dies, then you may enjoy receiving
these monthly stamp kits. You can get them
by subscription HERE
or purchased
individually
while supplies last.

Fantastic (or should I say "fintastic"?) job with that background. Those small dark fish really create the illusion of the depths of the sea.
