Tri- Fold Card with Cute Mice and a Lemonade Recipe

Hello and welcome!

Time flies and it's suddenly August!! That means it's time for a new theme at Stamping Sensations. As always the challenge runs for the whole month so there is plenty of time to join in for a chance to win a wonderful prize. This month we have a prize package from Craft Stash. It's an easy theme too - Any Celebration - so hope to see you joining in!

I had this tri-fold card in mind with these cute mice ever since I saw this beautiful card made by Mandy. I loved the idea of including a recipe on the card. Hers was done with a cute Gingerbread family and a recipe for Gingerbread cookies, but when I saw her card I immediately thought of these cute mice making and drinking lemonade.

I'm sure many of you will recognize these images as some old Penny Black stamps. Mine are both wood mounted, but they are also available in this clear stamp set. I think the clear stamps are a little bit smaller that the wood mounted are, but the images are the same and the set includes some other cute images as well.

Related :

They were stamped using Versafine Onyx ink on Bristol Vellum paper then colored with Zig Clean Color markers.

I typed up the recipe on the computer (the original recipe is for limeade but it works just the same with lemons) and I used an old Stampin Up lemon  stamp on the recipe card stamped with Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink

I was looking for some patterned papers in a shade similar to the lemonade and found this ancient confetti paper from my scrapbooking days from the early 2000's. Thought it was actually perfect for the celebratory theme of the card :-)

Above is a closer view at the card front image. I used a stencil behind both images but not so sure that I like it. And then I added a thin strip of polka dotted papers to each image panel.

The sentiments are from Penny Black set Sweet Wishes and Sprinkles and Smiles

Thanks so much for visiting!

Everything about this say's Summer Ellie and the tri fold is perfect to showcase all the images. I often make lemonade in the Summer, but apart from one week early July our weather seems to think it's Winter.
