Hooray, It's Your Special Day - Handmade Card

Well, I completely forgot to publish this post on time, but better late than never! And I still need to update some into here but thought I'd better get it posted before completing all the details which can take some time.

First Sunday of the month means we have a new theme at Stamping Sensations! For October we selected "Animals, Birds and Bugs", a fun and easy one with many options and hope you'll play along with us for a chance to win the prize from Stamp Addicts, a £25 store voucher to their shop.

I made a celebration themed card for today using a cute mouse image from the Penny Black set Birthday Critters.

Stamped with Versafine Onyx ink on Bristol Vellum paper and then colored with Zig Clean Color markers. A simple Nestabilities circle die has been used to cut out the image then trimmed off part of the circle.

These papers I've had forever and I still had my paper piercing template out from a recent card so I added some piercing along the bottom edge. For some extra interest I used a stapler on both sides of the paper but decided it was too much so I tied some mustard colored ribbon onto the right side staples to hide them somewhat. 

The sentiment is from the Penny Black Sweet Wishes, and I added another one inside the card from the same set along with a cute mouse from the set Critter Fun and a strip of matching paper:
