Daisies and Butterflies

It's Saturday again and that means it's time for a new theme at Allsorts challenge. Mervi's turn to host this time around and her theme is "Feminine". Our prizes this week have been kindly donated by Craft Stash and Ruth Hamilton Designs so hopefully you'll join us for a chance to win!

I recently purchased a few new Penny Black stamps and a die set so I've used some new things on today's card.

I love daisies so couldn't resist this pretty stamp Daisy Dream. It's been stamped on heavy weight watercolor paper (Canson Montval) with the help of a stamp platform, then colored with Zig Clean Color brush pens and a Zig Detailer. I flicked some green ink onto the background for some interest.

Related Products:

The sentiment is also new from the set Love Big. I wish I had used my stamp platform for it as I didn't get a perfect impression with it using a clear block but as you know, once the block is lifted you get what you get! I just don't usually use the platform for sentiments.

I also couldn't resist the cute butterflies die set Soaring from the recent release. Die cut using white card stock then I inked them up with distress ink. I decided to add some lace to the right side. This is a sticky back lace I've had for some time. Some May Arts jute twine and sticky pearls finish off the card.

You have until Friday to join us for this challenge. The linky tool can be found on the challenge blog (linked at the beginning of the post). Hope to see you there!

This is really lovely Ellie, leaving the flowers uncoloured against the soft green give a real feel of Spring.

I also LOVE daisies, so this card really stood out to me. Such a lovely image, beautifully coloured and the sentiment is absolutely brilliant too (and very true!). xxx

A lovely shabby chic design and what a fab sentiment too.

There is a faint touch of color at the very edges of the petals, but hard to see :)

A delicate and pretty design, using just the outline of those gorgeous daisies and a hint of colour works beautifully. The sentiment is one I should take heed of I think, we get bogged down in events happening around us and the weight is sometimes too much. I'm going to purchase this stamp set myself and make something to hang in my craft room so that I can see it each day to give me a positive vibe.

I absolutely adore this card Ellie - you so rock using Penny Black stamps it gets me to thinking I must start using them again more, as they were my first love. That new stamp is beautiful as is the sentiment - I can't see any problems with the impression! I must admit though I now always use my stamp platform for sentiments, as otherwise that is where my cards tend to go wrong with wonky placement and/or poor impressions. Absolutely love everyting about this one :-)

Just marvelous, Ellie!! I love daisy images and have so many. (It is the flower of P.E.O. and I make many cards with them for my P>E>O> sisters). This PB image is whimsical and I love it. Your inky background and distressing and lace are done to perfection!
