Fashion Friday: Dressed for a Rainy Day

When these photos were taken, the sky was gray and I decided to wear gray jeans to match the mood 😄 Rain was in the forecast so I had my thin raincoat on just in case. (I never carry an umbrella so a hooded rain jacket is a must in my closet!)

I'm sure I've mentioned before, my go-to jeans are usually some sort of blue jeans but this time I decided to wear these Adriano Goldschmidt (AG) jeans I found in the girls clearance section at Gordman's. I bought them for my daughter but they were too lose on her and I lost the receipt so I couldn't return them. But they did fit me for the most part and I decided to keep them. These are a size 16. Being only about 5'2" these teen jeans were also too long so I had to fold them up. (I might just go ahead and cut them off and create my own raw hem jeans!!)

While I can't find a link to this particular pair of jeans (they appear sold out in the size 16 at Amazon.), these High Waist Ankle Jeggings, these   Raw Hem Ankle Skinny, and maybe some of you may even like these Snake Print Skinny Jeans as a similar option.  You can see clickable snippets of these at the end of this post.

This top I received in my Loft order a few weeks ago, unfortunately this color only available in limited sizes now, but some sizes are still available in the Forever Navy  or Petite Skyway Blue. It does fit true to size, and if you're in between sizes I would size down. If you like the colors of my top then you might like this Striped Hoodie Open Cardigan as an alterative. This top is pretty thin so I wore a camisole under it on this day.

These boots I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. While Nordstrom no longer sells this model, I did find them directly at Miz Mooz, or for a lower price (for select sizes) on Amazon.  The boots are made of the softest leather and are so comfortable! It's so hard to find booties without a heel and these were just perfect for me! These Cordia Booties have some great reviews as well and come in several colors. I love the cement leather color I've linked at the end of this post.

While my boots aren't waterproof out of the box, I use this waterproofer spray on them. Of course there is always an option to get a pair of rainboots, but I'm not usually out in the rain often enough to justify buying a pair.

I've had my hooded raincoat for a long time, picked up from Gordman's in a size Small so it's a little bit oversized on me (I usually wear XS), but an oversized raincoat is probably a good thing anyway!

This waterproof jacket would be a great option if you're looking to add a raincoat to your wardrobe and it's available in several colors, plus currently on sale! Sizing up is recommended if you're in between sizes. This shorter raincoat has great reviews as well and also currently marked down.

My shoulderbag is old by Nine West, I found it at a local thrift store in (almost) new condition. I mentioned in previous post that I really liked this option from Target, but I think this pinkish clay colored suede bag would look really nice with this outfit and it's currently (as I type this) marked down by 40%.

Below are snippets of all the clothing items I've mentioned. Each one of the images is clickable.

This is a great casual outfit for a rainy day! I love a good pair of gray jeans to change it up a bit. These would look super cute with a DIY raw hem if you decide to alter them that way. I need a good rain coat! I only have a black rain cape which is cute but it is a little awkward and has no sleeves.

Thanks so much, Shelbee. Will definitley try turning these into rawhem jeans, it's probably easier to do than trying to hem them.

What cute grey jeans! It's great you could get use from the jeans even if your daughter couldn't! I have a pair of grey jeans and I love them so much, great alternative to black!

Hope that you have a wonderful weekend ahead of you!

Your outfit is exactly my style. I dress for the weather too and wear dark on grey rainy days. Brights seem incongruous in rain to me. Thank you for linking to Muttonstyle Monday.

Hi! I love the casual style and those jeans sound great! Nice that they worked out. I have several pairs of AG jeans and love how soft they are. Those boots are cute! My favorite pair are my combats.
