Another Day Hiking in Iowa and What I Wore on this Beautiful Day

Hello and welcome! It's time for my weekly outfit post, although today's outfit isn't really blog worthy and just another yoga pants hiking outfit. Last weekend we had some glorious, unseasonably warm weather and took another trip to Iowa's Wildcat Den State Park. We just recently visited this park - you can read about it HERE - but there was another area we didn't get to see last time.

Please note: This post includes some affiliate links meaning I may earn a small commission if you purchase something through the links. As always this is at no cost to you. Thanks so much for supporting this blog.

On our last visit we parked at the Grist Mill parking lot and hiked  trails 2-5. We are slow hikers as we like to explore the area we're hiking in, so we had decided to skip trail no. 1 on our last visit and come back another time. Most attractions in this park are found on trails 2-5, but we very much enjoyed trail no. 1 just the same.

Below is the map I downloaded  to my phone. If you ever do get a chance to visit this State Park, I highly recommend this map as the trails are not very well marked.

While we parked at the Old Mill on our last visit, this time we parked at the upper picnic area for easier access to Park Boundary Trail. I just noticed it's marked as a hard trail, but personally I didn't find it that way, it's definitely less difficult than trails 2-6.

I wish I was wearing a more fall colored shirt but somehow I ended up with this pink athletic shirt by Reebok paired with another one of my favorite yoga pants with pockets (this time they are zippered). These leggings are by Kyodan found at Marshalls over a year ago but this exact style is no longer available.

However if you are looking to update your workout pants, Marshall's does have a great variety and styles to choose from. Below are some that caught my eye, while I usually prefer solid colors I think these are all cute, although I'd probably not wear the snake print. But since snake print has been such a big trend I thought some of you may like them. I'd love to try the crop joggers since I threw my joggers out years ago and don't currently have any, but they do tend to get me to be less productive, which is the reason why I ditched them in the first place....

>>>>PS: Marshall's offers free shipping on orders of $89 or more with code SHIP89 and returns are easy at your local store or through the mail. They also currently have an extended Holiday return window, so you have until January 24th next year to make the return.

My adidas trail running shoes are old. As mentioned in a previous post, I hate running but do love wearing these when hiking in place of traditional hiking shoes which tend to be on the heavier side. Trail running shoes are the perfect alternative!

This pair found on Amazon would be an option, and many more options at DSW.

This part of the trail was a little bit steeper than it actually looks in the photo and the lug sole of my trail running sneakers helped keep me from sliding down.

I've had this athletic t-shirt for a while, I think it came from Kohl's, but could have also been from Marshall's. I love the neckline of this shirt, it's somewhere between a scoop neck and crew neck which makes it perfect for yoga.

Below are some athletic tops that caught my eye while browsing the Marshall's site...

I'm sharing a few nature pictures below, most trees have lost their leaves but there still was some color left and we captured some beautiful pictures!

This pine tree lined trail looked so enchanting and inviting, and seemed to go on forever! So pretty! I definitely want to visit here next year before the leaves are on the ground.

As always, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today!

What beautiful hiking photos! That outfit might not be "blog worthy" but it's just like the ones I use hiking (when the weather is warm).

It looks like a beautiful hike: we haven't been in a while. Not sure why but we have been enjoying some lazy weekends lately.

Thanks Mireille! It's cooled of here now but hope we get to do at least one winter hike somewhere! But also looking forward to some lazy weekends now that it's gotten colder.

Active wear is all I've been wearing lately myself and I was thinking of doing a post just on activewear to wear when it's cold out. This hike looks so pretty! I'll have to keep this park in mind if I'm ever in the area.
