Hello and welcome!
It's been a while since I managed to join in Lysha's I Spy Photo challenge! In February we got got hit by the coldest temperatures of the year which seemed to last forever and I was just uninspired to take pictures. I did snap a few around the house and outside the door for some of the prompts given but they weren't enough and I just never got around to completing them all!
By the way, if you're here to view my latest card for Allsorts challenge which I shared earlier today you can view it here or simply scroll down.
And then of course my favorite way of taking photos is with my DSLR camera but as you can imagine I don't carry that with me on a regular basis when out and about, and I rarely think to snap photos with my phone...
But I'm happy to have managed to snap enough pictures for this week's prompts. I'm also sharing a few photos I've taken for previous prompts at the end of the post :-)
This week's prompts are:
- your choice
Last weekend we had some beautiful spring like weather and I decided that it was the perfect time to go on a late winter hike to Iowa's Wildcat Den State Park. Well, it turned out to be not so perfect after all as there still was so much snow on the trails and if not snow then mud which made it all very slippery even though we had somewhat decent trail shoes. So we only hiked one trail and then turned around and went to a nearby shopping mall instead. 3 out of 5 of today's pictures are from our hike.
I Spy -Texture
The Texture on a cliff inside the "Devil's Punch Bowl" at Wildcat Den State Park.
I Spy - Fun
My husband having fun hiking on a late winter day (last weekend). (Although in this photo he was trying not to slip on the muddy grounds.)
This one would have been so perfect for the "textures" prompt as well!
I Spy -Tall
A look up at the tall trees.
I wanted to share another one - this one (below) I've taken last year on a November hike (if you're a blog follower then you would have already seen it in this post),
same park different location!
I just love this photo so much, the way the sun hits the tree tops!
One of my daughter's old pairs of Pointe shoes.
I Spy - My Choice
My beautiful snowdrops in my backyard just started to bloom this past week!
A few bonus photos I've taken for some February challenges which I never shared!
I Spy - Weather:
I love the sparkles in the snow and the blue shadows! It's easy to tell it was freezing outside!
I Spy - Writing:
I'm in the process of re-writing favorite recipes into a new cookbook.
Corners made up by the tulip's petals.
I Spy - Alive
This little guy was so thankful for the old bread I had given him. He just sat her on the bannister and allowed me to take his picture.

Such beautiful photos! We have been finding our trails to be quite icy/snowy or else covered in mud too. It does make for difficult hiking.ReplyDelete
Thanks Joanne! Can't wait for better hiking weather! Nothing but rain currently over here!Delete

Love your close-up of the squirrel.ReplyDelete
He's such a cutie!Delete
You captured a lot of COOL pictures!!! I think each one I looked at I thought, "Oh! I have to tell her that one is my favorite!!" But by the end, I couldn't pick just one. LOVE the nature ones, the trees and that squirrel! How did you capture that guy? Zoom in or did he let you get close?ReplyDelete
He was right outside the backdoor about two steps away. Camera on macro setting and then zoom. Little guy was hungry and freezing! If I remember correctly do think I took it through the door because I would have been too scared of him running inside the house LOL. It was extremely cold during that time.Delete
I love your interpretations of each of the prompts. Your photo of the squirrel is wonderful. I've not seen a photo scavenger hunt on a blog for ages. #mmbcReplyDelete
Fantastic photos! They really are beautiful. I love the squirrel, how cute xReplyDelete
Lovely pictures and such a fun challenge!ReplyDelete
Thanks so much!Delete
beautiful photos! I love the second tree one and the squirrel is adorable - it's a shame we don't have them here in Australia!ReplyDelete
Hope your week is going well! It's a rainy one here!
Away From The Blue
What!! I had no idea there are no squirrels in Australia!!Delete
But being from Europe it was surely a surprise to me to see them living right in the neighborhoods here in America. In Europe we'd find them mostly in the forests.
THIS IS AWESOME!! I will be popping over to check out the challenge more in depth because I just love this idea! And you're pictures are great too! I have a soft spot for squirrels so I really enjoyed that one, but they're all great!ReplyDelete
Thanks so much Alexandra!Delete
Fabulous photography! I especially love the photo of the squirrel. That's amazing!ReplyDelete
Ellie, these photo challenges are so fun! I really like the shoes prompt and the writing prompt photos. The hiking photos are so great, too! They are all great actually! Thanks for sharing and linking with me!ReplyDelete
