I Spy With My Little Eye ...........Sparkle and/or Shine (Challenge No. 9)

Hello and welcome to a new I Spy With My Little Eye challenge taking place right here on my blog! Pauline and I are here with a new theme and hope you will join us too this month for your chance to be featured in the next challenge and maybe even joining us as a guest designer. We had many wonderful entries last month, thank you all so much for playing along with us. The Top 2 are at the end of the post so be sure to scroll down.

It was my turn to choose a theme this time around and it is.................

I Spy with my little eye...............

Sparkle and/or Shine.

We can't wait to see what you'll share with us. Remember, you may share anything crafty, it doesn't have to be a card! As long as it fits the theme and is handmade by you we'd love to see it! The linky tool is at the end of the post.

My Card:
This post may include some affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you purchase something through the links. As always, this is at no cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting this blog!

For my card today I used a few Penny Black stamps (Trilling Trio, Berry Bevy, Nature Sings, Christmas Story). The postmark/cancellation stamps are from a set by Flourishes which is no longer in business. I started by inking snow drifts with a torn paper mask on a white piece of card stock (they are barely visible in the photo), then stamped the bird with the help of my stamp platform. I used Distress ink pads as my markers no longer work well. After stamping I used a damp paint brush on the bird. Next I stamped the branches and somehow I managed to get a couple of smudges on the paper so my idea of a clean-ish card changed to a more rustic card so out came the background stamp to "hide" the smudges. The patterned paper (which also wasn't part of the original card idea) is from Hobby Lobby/last year's release. I also found the ribbon scrap on my desk from the last project and I thought it was perfect. I stapled it onto the card then tied some jute twine around the staple. Since the card turned a bit "rustic" I decided that the chunky glass glitter was a perfect choice for my sparkle/shine element. I've had this from Stampin Up for a long time. I used my regular liquid glue (Mono multi) to add the glitter. I also added stickles glitter to the berries.

Stunning Christmas card Ellie, your colouring on the bird is absolutely fabulous, and I love all the rustic elements such as the background and edging stamping, and the gorgeous paper. Everything fits together perfectly!

Gorgeous Christmas card Ellie, the Cardinal makes a lovely focal element. We don't have them over here and never saw on on visits to the USA so not sure how big they actually are.

All three design team sparkle/glitter cards are stunning!! And for Ellie linking to FarmQuest Country Christmas, thank you very much! I love the mixed media collage effect that you merged into the winter nature scene elements! The little bit of checked ribbon and jute twine are also great little farmhouse or general store touches! Very homey, festive, and cheerful! --Becca

Das passiert mir auch öfters, das meine Idee sich während des bastelns verändert. Wunderschön ist deine Karte geworden, ich liebe diesen leichten nostalgischen Touch.
