Happy Friday and thanks so much for visiting! I'm back today with another
outfit post (I skipped last week due to the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and I
didn't want to spend time preparing a post on a holiday).
Please note: This post includes some affiliate links meaning I may earn
a small commission if you purchase something through the links. As
always this is at no cost to you. Thanks so much for supporting this
blog.
This black belted jacket is by Esprit, which used to be a brand I loved when
living in Europe but this clothing line is not widely available in the US. With the price of
only $4.99 in "like new" condition it just had to come home with me! The
style reminds me a little bit of a trench coat but this one is shorter and a
little more casual without the traditional trench coat lapels and a zipper
instead of buttons.
My cashmere sweater from Talbots is a few years old but still my favorite sweater. I love this shade of green! Sorry, no direct link as it's old, but many retailers currently have their cashmere sweaters still marked down, so if you're looking to treat yourself (or a loved one) to something in cashmere, this would be a great time.
Talbots does currently have a sweater sale (50% off all sweaters including Cashmere - sale ends Dec. 5th).
This Heritage Green v-neck sweater would be a good alternative but sizes are limited in the v-neck,
however it's
fully stocked in the rounded neck
and I love the button details on the cuffs. (You might want to go up one
size for a looser fit.)

Nordstrom, Everlane and Naadam are other great places to look for Cashmere sweaters. The pretty red crewneck sweater shown below is from Nordstrom's Halogen brand and as I type this marked down to under $60. No sale currently at Everlane, but they do have some nice ones in a more relaxed fit as well as their popular classic style shown below.
The camel color always seems like a popular color as it's a timeless classic that will never go out of style. I used to have one in camel years ago but some how ended up with a hole in it on the shoulder and I threw it away. I'd like to blame the cats for it but honestly I don't think we had cats at that time =)

I decided to wear my boot cut jeans on this day. These are old (by Vintage
America).
Old Navy
has a good selection of Bootcut Jeans. And then of course
many to choose from at Nordstrom
at various price points.
Looking at these pictures, it might have been a good idea to tie the belt in
the back so it wouldn't just hang there... maybe next time!
Bootcut jeans usually look best with a heel, but I injured my Achilles
tendon (probably in a yoga class a few weeks ago) so I'm just wearing flats and low
heels now, but that's really what I mostly reach for anyway.
My leather boots were a more recent
purchase from Amazon by Earth Origins. They are still marked down to under
$20. With an 1" heel and arch support they are perfect and I love the detail
on the sides (which is here covered by the boot cut jeans).
Black jackets don't seem to photograph well, but here it is zipped up with
the belt tied. It's definitely more suitable for fall than winter but it
kept me warm enough on this day with the help of my warm sweater.
This thin silk scarf is the only item in my closet somewhat resembling an
animal print. I picked it up years ago at our local shopping mall when it
was still open - I miss those times!!
Not the best picture below, but on another day I paired the same sweater and
jacket with skinny jeans and a gray knit scarf. The knit scarf was definitely
needed on this day.
These skinny jeans are one of my favorite pairs of jeans from Banana Republic, but an older style. The scarf was purchased in January from LOFT. This exact one is sold out but LOFT does have some great scarf options currently. By the way, use code FALALA for up to 75% off their sales styles.
The boots are also the same as in the photos above. You can see the side detail on the photo below.
Below are the looks side by side. Which one do you prefer? I'm leaning more towards the skinny jeans outfit as it's more casual and that's pretty much my lifestyle.
Friday Favorites
Since I missed last Friday when I would have normally posted my Friday Favorite Finds, I'm including a couple in this post:
On Black Friday I ordered this Sherpa Sweatshirt when it was only $12.99. It's sooooo soft. I actually got it in this gray/navy as well as the color Tannin which is a light brown. Already received the color above but still waiting on Tannin which is now out of stock. This sweatshirt is on the shorter side so it's perfect for those of us in the petite category.
I subscribed to Marquee TV because I soooo miss watching a live performance of the Nutcracker this year! Marquee TV offers a 14 day free trial and there are several ballets available to choose from from Royal Ballet, Bolshoi and others, as well as several Shakespeare plays and more. Marquee TV is similar to Netflix or Hulu, just with life performances instead of TV and movies.
We watched the Nutcracker by the Royal Ballet last night and really enjoyed it. But definitely not the same as a life performance!
Thanks so much again for taking the time out of your day to stop by for a visit!

LOVE!!!!
That is a fabulous thrifty find, Ellie! I remember Esprit was hugely popular in the US in the 80's and early 90's but I haven't seen much of it around here either in the past few decades. I love the the color of your cashmere sweater, too! So pretty. I need more cashmere in my life! Happy weekend, my friend!

That is such a pretty color and you can never go wrong with cashmere!
Very nice jacket. I like the outfits. I scored some deals online at Kohls on Black Friday too. :)
Thanks Julie!
Thanks Shelbee! Fun fact to hear that Esprit was popular here at one time. I didn't move here until '98 and have never seen the brand in any stores.
Thanks so much, Joanne!
Thanks so much! I can never resist their sales, that Kohl's Cash gets me every year during Thanksgiving week :-)
Wow! You really scored big on that jacket! Love your cashmere sweater too. I have been after a camel sweater for years, but I can never seem to find one in stock. It's a very popular color.
A good sweater is always a great staple to have in your closet and love the jacket.

I love both looks: that sweater is a great base for an outfit with the pretty color. That's an incredible find for the jacket: I remember the Esprit brand from growing up in France and I like the details on this jacket.

Love both the looks! The cashmere sweater looks cozy. Beautiful color!

I am not sure when it disappeared from the states, but the brand was hugely popular during my middle school years (which would have been 1984-1988). I think by the time I went to high school, it was already losing popularity...or I just shifted my style preferences at that point.
My only "girl" cashmere sweater is that exact shade of green, purchased at K-Mart at least 15 years ago, but still servicable! (the rest of mine are husband-hand-me-downs). I am definately in the market for more, probably in after-Christmas sales...
Love your cashmere sweater, a sage green right? It is a lovely color! The jacket looks cozy and warm and I love the addition of the scarf. Cashmere is so soft and wonderful!
thanks for linking!

I like both looks and I love Esprit!
I think both of your looks are just perfect for fall/winter!
that green knit is such a lovely colour on you and the jacket goes so well with it. I like both of the scarves you chose too although they are different the neutrals really work!
Hope that your tendon heals up soon for you!
Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup!
Hope that you had a fun weekend :)
