Hello and welcome!
We recently received some snow and ice, and it was the perfect opportunity to
wear my Fair Isle sweater I purchased in December of 2019. I did already wear
this sweater a couple of times in December but it somehow feels more
appropriate when there is actually some snow on the ground (we didn't have any
snow in December).
Everything I'm wearing in today's post I've styled before (minus the hat) so
nothing is new and there won't be any direct links to anything. But there is
always the option to look at resale shops as you may never know when or if
they are available. I'm also linking to similar options for those of you
interested.
This post may include some affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small
commission if you purchase something through the links. As always, this is
at no cost to you. Thank you so much for your support!
The sweater is by 1901 (a Nordstrom label) and purchased from
Nordstrom in
December of 2019. While I'm not a huge fan of turtleneck sweaters, I fell
in love with these colors and the sweater is super soft so I have no issues with
this specific turtleneck sweater (and a few others I have in my closet, although
it always takes me a few minutes to get used to them).
My down jacket/coat was a Goodwill find last year, by Eddie Bauer, in like new
condition. I've shared an outfit with it before in
this post
where I also shared how I clean a down jacket.
This coat has a red lining and while I do love how it looks with this
particular sweater, I do need to be sure not to pair it with a clashing color.
Above is a look at the back of the coat. I did a little research ... this coat
is the
Eddie Bauer Yukon Classic which is a shorter lengths
but it's perfect for my petite frame. Then there is the
Eddie Bauer Yukon 2.0 (a little bit longer - you can
see it here on Amazon but it's only in
XS), and it's also available as a Parka (
Eddie Bauer Yukon Classic Down Parka). Just thought I'd share the info, in case you may be looking at it on a
resale site, so you know what to look for, should you be interested in this coat.
I've been reaching for gray jeans a little bit more often recently. These are
a pair of AG jeans I found at a Gordmans' store a couple of years ago at a
fantastic prize. They are actually a "kid" size 16 and probably the reason why they were so inexpensive. I still had to trim
them a little bit because they were too long :-) AG jeans are known for their
excellent quality but they are usually way out of my personal budget. Some limited sizes are usually found at
Nordstrom Rack for less than half the prize, and eBay is another place to look at.
My boots are from St. John's Bay. Love the fur lining! These are no longer
available (maybe at a second hand store - they run true to size or go up half
a size if you're in between sizes), but there are
several cute options
currently reduced at Nordstrom, and and
DSW
usually carries several lace up snow boots too. Of course as with everything
else,
Amazon has plenty to choose from
too!
My gray knit hat is by Calvin Klein purchased at
Marshall's last
winter. It's soft and comfortable and I think gray is a perfect color!
As you can see, my touchscreen gloves do not do their job very well and I had
to remove one to be able to use my phone. I've had these for a while and maybe
I should be replacing them with a pair that actually works! But I think the
problem may be that my finger are too short/ gloves too big!!
I forgot to take off my coat for today's pictures for a better view of the sweater, but below is a photo from December 2019. I really wish I could link up to it, but
there isn't even anything close to it this winter....
I wasn't able to find a similar turtleneck fair isle sweater, but did find a
few pretty ones. When looking to purchase a fair isle sweater I'd suggest
steer clear of purchasing one in Christmas colors or traditional Christmas
motifs to get more wear out of it.
LOFT Fair Isle Sweater (now an extra 60% off with code TREAT)
It was so pretty outside on this day with ice covered branches and fog in
the distance, so of course I had to take some nature pictures too :-)
Red berries always look gorgeous when covered in ice!
These gorgeous pine needles and cones were worth taking off my gloves for
too!
Thanks so much for visiting!

I love mine, although still reaching for blue jeans the most!
Yes, I couldn't resist it even though I didn't really need it. But it was a steal for only $20!
